    Exactly, hence why the people who live in the US get a piece of my mind when they lag and my UK buddy doesn't. Good question. As long as we're able to block standing, block low, and use holds on reaction I'd say they did their job.

    TakedaZX, what the hell was this about?... Our matches froze for a second maybe 5 times in three matches, the other guy in your lobby was the lagger. Don't invite someone to a lobby and cry when they beat you.

    DOA never had a good story so you should've known what to expect there...no fighting game has a good story for that matter, unless you count MK's Hollywood blockbuster movie satire. I agree on the netcode though.

    In the past DOA had fewer, shorter, and weaker strings. The evolution of DOA gave rise to more, longer, and "stronger" strings to make for more interesting matches and funner gameplay.     Here are my gripes: 1. Input drops while blocking correctly - I was playing this guy who was throwing high strings at me while I was backing away. After the first string attack hits my guard the second attack hits me for a stun even though I am still backing away as if the game has a glitch...

    DOA5 has guards, guard breaks, and some characters have unblockable attacks in addition to a vast assortment of untechable throws. Guard impacts wouldn't apply hence there are no weapons to be used but granted, some characters have parries. As far as I can see Solid_Altair is just very fond of SC.

    I agree that it is sort of a get out of jail free card but that's where DOA's trademark mind games come into play. When you anticipated a wild low hold you get aggressive with a swift mid strike to deal extra damage and keep them on the defensive.

    Am I missing something? How do you give SC4/5 props for defensiveness when it doesn't have holds and say that DOA5 is too offensive when it has holds?

    When that happens to me, I play another one of my favorite games (Borderlands) then return to DOA5. Sometimes you need a break from playing the same game.
