    DOA 5 Tina Thread

That was never really the case. When that was said, Bayman was the only true grappler revealed. When Bass and Tina became playable, people began to realize that that was a Bayman specific mechanic. There were definitely times where Tina's throw combos were being broken and I was being...

Ryu Hayabusa: The Thinking Man's Super Ninja

That's what I meant. He couldn't attend the second IPL event since he won the first one. To be honest, I wasn't even expecting him to show up at GVN even if he was able to go. Also, another quick question. Is Hayabusa's throw from his handstand still his only offensive hold, or has he...

Do these work on normal hit as well (I know :8::p: doesn't)? I know NH isn't practical, I'm just curious.

Ryu Hayabusa: The Thinking Man's Super Ninja

I believe that because Master won the first IPL event at e3, he's not allowed to attend the others. No idea why he wasn't at GVN though. Can Hayabusa still Izuna off of some ledges like he could in 2U and 4?

    New England

I think we should re-name this thread to the New England thread. That way when people come to the matchmaking forums, they easily know what region this place is located in and they don't make a redundant thread.

    DOA 5 Tina Thread

Tina only had 2 CB moves in the build I played, and that string wasn't one of them. Her only CB moves are :7::p::p::p: and :6::p+k:. As for its use in juggles, I'm not too sure it'll be all that practical. It's pretty slow, so I don't think you'll be able to fully connect with it after a...

    DOA 5 Tina Thread

Define redonkulous. As a grappler, she still deals good damage with her throws on counter and high counter, but some do more than others. Was there a throw in particular you were thinking of?

Dead or Alive 3//Brad Wong Guide(Part one): Intro and Zui Ba Xian Quan Origins Of The Drunken Master

I agree with Allan. I'm a total masochist and have been trying to learn Brad in 3.1, and this guide would be a great help.

    Who's your favorite DOA character¿ and why¿

Hayabusa is S tier in 2 and A tier in 3.1. Christie is low mid in 3.

    DOA 5 Tina Thread

Thought of some more stuff worth sharing: - :F+K: can be used to set up an air throw on counter or high counter. I was using it after a situation where Tina was at advantage to beat out my opponent's attacks and was landing it pretty consistently. Be careful when you use it though. If it gets...

    DOA 5 Tina Thread

Not that I could find and, to be honest, I'd be shocked if there was one. The height required for her air throw is still pretty high, and I couldn't even get one jab in before an air throw, let alone a relaunch. If you want to juggle into a throw, your best bet is to end the juggle with any...

    DOA 5 Tina Thread

Skilletor, I believe JO Cyclone is while rising. I didn't get any time in training mode or time to run through her move list, but it seems like the buttons are closest to her DOA 4/D incarnations. And Chris, as others have said before my edit, :3::3::P::P::P: is not a CB move. The only ones...

    DOA 5 Tina Thread

So VirtuaPai and I got to spend a lot of time with Tina at GVN this past weekend (and also had some pretty awesome mirror matches). I'm sure he'll come in at some point to tell you what he thinks, but here are some thoughts I have of her: - She plays totally unlike she does in any other DOA. I...

I actually brought an Xbox pad, but Gill never said anything to me about people playing 3.1. I would have gladly let people use mine had I known.

    Who here plays chess?

I used to love chess as a kid! I played it with my dad all the time on a sweet Simpsons chess set we had. Did anybody play online during the days of Yahoo chess? That was my first taste of competitive online anything.

Dude it sucked. It's not that bad usually, but we hit traffic on the NJ turnpike, waited about an hour for gas, then hit traffic on the GW Bridge, road work twice in CT, and then once again in MA. It added like 4 hours to the trip.

    Atlanta/GA Thread

Ok, so even though I'm living up in Boston at the moment, there's a slight chance I may be relocating to Atlanta for work in the fall of 2013. I know it's a ways off, but I'm still a bit curious as to what the DOA scene is like down here. I know ATL has a pretty big FGC, so I was wondering if...
