I'm doing manual hex editing, which honestly isn't too bad as long as you write down all the different addresses for easy access later.
So anyway, I was watching some footage from the early builds of DOA4 where I noticed Hitomi got a limbo stun when using 6F+K. I thought that was a pretty neat...
I haven't gotten around to this yet, but I'd definitely like to at some point, just having a little trouble extracting my 3.2 files right now. From what I can tell just by playing them, there weren't really any damage, animation or safety changes from 3.1 to 3.2, so I'm hoping the differences...
DOA2U uses .xpr files for its models, just like DOA3, so you can use the GreedXplorer like in the tutorial on the previous page. The main difference is that DOA2 doesn't detect costumes on your hard drive like DOA3 does, so you have to replace the in-game costumes with your custom ones.
DOA2U's...
236P, 236P, 6PK, 236P, 9PKP for 100 damage is the highest I've found so far.
EDIT: 236P, 236P, 6PK, 3P, 236P, P+K, Air F+P for 110 is higher.
Edit: \/\/\/ Yeah, on normal hit.
So, with Mr Wah and @Rikuto 's suggestions in mind I slapped together a different mod with more of an "if it ain't broke, don't fix it"-mentality. I've tried to keep changes to a minium because I think Rikuto's mindset of adjusting useless attacks to make them useful (and leaving the rest alone)...
Yeah, I have. Looks to me like they were in the early stages of converting him from DOA2 to DOA3, but never finished it. Kind of a shame, I would have loved to play with Tengu in DOA3's engine.
Welcome to the thread for this "balance mod" for DOA3, based on the Japanese DOA3.1 version.
Download v1.46a of the DOA3++ gameplay mod here: https://www.mediafire.com/file/y92rx23uzdds0z6/DOA3%252B%252Bv1_46a.rar/file
To install the patch, you need a folder with all of DOA3's files in it. If...
If you mean the model from his battle in story mode with fire reflections on his armor, I included that as a Bayman costume:
For those following the thread: I did another update to some of the costumes (mostly the DOA4-based ones). Download link and previews are on the front page as always.
Someone else basically did it for me, so you'd have to ask them.
Someone (Russian guy who goes by b0ny, I believe) ported a bunch of DOA3 costumes for use in DOA2U and DOA Online. One of the was Chen. I took a look at his model in a memory viewer and compared it with his DOA3 model. By doing...
Not sure exactly what info you're looking for, but I guess I can just list some of the stuff I found interesting.
- New ground game, similar to DOA2's
- Stun system with a threshold similar to DOA2's, though stunning moves were not as common as they were in DOA2.
- Simplified inputs. Throws are...
Costumes, kinda, I guess. I'm not really digging DOA5's whole low saturation-look, though that might be more of a lighting thing rather than texture. Part of me also really wants to give every character mustaches.
If people find out how to make engine changes or mod attack properties like we...
I doubt the engine supports depth maps. I haven't seen any models using it in either DOA3 or DOA2U. I don't think it was implemented until DOA4, which uses normal mapping on some textures.
In addition to our .xpr files that can contain models and textures, we also have .cat files. These control the lightning and color of the different materials of the model. Lighting is divided up into four parts: Diffuse, ambient, specular and power.
Specular, diffuse and ambient are...
@maskedman I don't think there's a way to get the costume count above 9. You'll just have to pick out your favorite costumes and only transfer those over.

Now, let's move on to model editing using a memory viewer. This part is more complicated to work with, but you can do some pretty cool...
As promised, a tutorial for texture editing.
Greed Xplorer download
Greed Xplorer is a program I primarily use for extracting and injecting textures, as well as previewing the character model with said textures. It can, however, also be used to open up DOA's .afs-files, that contain the game's...
Not as far as I know. There might be a converter for that out there somewhere, but the modders who made these programs really seemed more interested in doing that for DOA2U and DOA4.
