They won't let bandai sell a Digimon figure to the west for not being child friendly because they keep trying to sell digimon to children like Pokémon does.

Few problems with that

1) angewomon literally has the same design she had back in 1998. The difference is just a sexir physique and pose.

2) digimon was always "sexy" with its females why is this only a problem now?

3) in japan they flat out admitted Digimon is aimed at adults and teens, especially nowadays.

4) its especially stupid because the figure is of Adventure, the first season. Meaning the target demographic is adults who watched that as kids

Wow that's basically a Bishoujo statue, I can see WHY they'd ban it but what about teen/adult fans that WANT a sexy digimon statue... ?

I don't think you can just market the Digimon stuff to other adults, even if they are manga/anime/game fans. These figurines are already pretty niche here, if you have to subtract the hardcore Digimon fans there isn't much left. But why "banning" it? You mean it just isn't officially released here, right?

Man, I really I like it! It's so dynamic, lighthearted and pretty. I love how the angel Digimon looks back smiling at the girl and that I can't decide which angle/perspective actually looks best.

This happens in alot kid shows unfortunately. Parents and whatever groups complain, like their child hasn't seen it already. The figurine isn't even that bad...her boobs are hanging out(But not more that it would be overly excessive) and only one leg is exposed. There's way worse out there

ive never really cared that much for censorship as far as clothing design since im of the opinion that a lot of times i wish they would wear more clothing. people say things like "artistic integrity" and i just really don't give a shit, artistic integrity goes out the window the second they sign a contract with a publisher giving them the rights to change their work on a whim.

its not like they're unwarranted either DOAD will forever be an example of why pissing off fans is better than letting things be. nobody in their right mind would have considered that game childporn or even lolicon yet it got banned for sell in several countries. its better to be safe than sorry when running a business.

Um, you missed HOW and WHY Sweden banned DOAD...and it wasn't because of anything sensible, it was because Sweden lost it's damn mind when it came to child porn laws(literally banning pretty much anything with anything that looked like a kid/underage and could be constructed as sex appeal). Someone wanted to point out how insane they was and pointed out DOA as an example and tried to get Nintendo to notice too...and well, shit went stupid afterwards.

In the end it was an innocent act that pretty much ended up with DOAD on the ban list for Sweden, the team finally deciding to age up everyone once and for all to 18 and making Marie Rose just to spite them.

I very, veeery much doubt they made Marie Rose just to spite Sweden. That is not how capitalist companies do work. They might have eventually slapped Swedish nationality (which they do randomely at the e on her as a little dig but otherwise Marie Rose was designed from the very beginning to earn lotsa money, especially in Asia. And they succeeded.

I love both versions, they are actually so adorable! :3 Would love to own them both. And that's coming from someone who doesn't really throw out large quantities of money (none at all actually XD) for figures nor was I ever a big fan of Digimon. I watched the first two seasons when I was much younger though.

XD) and a while back she bought two figures of this one game and anime series that cost her over 250€/$ each, which I think is absolutely insane! x__X More than 500€/$ for two figures... But these figures actually do really look great in person:

@Tyaren Yaoi =/= gay porn... It's used for male/male relationships in general same as Yuri. There's quite alot of Yaoi and Yuri that has zero sexual content what so ever.

Sort of. There's a bit of a double standard there. While it doesn't necessarily refer exclusively to sexual content, yaoi is not used to refer to non-sexual content as often as yuri is.
