simple question if your characters turn out to be the lowest of the low teir wise would you still use them?

In casual play, sure.
Depends really. I may continue using them just to see if there's anything that everyone else may have missed. Heck, in Super Street Fighter II Turbo, T. Hawk was considered low tier for nearly 18 years. It wasn't until they found his option select for Old Hawk where he could practically loop you until round over in his Spinning Tomahawk Slam or Condor Spire option select that he was finally bumped up to *mid* tier. Eight. Teen. Years.

Welp seeing how one of my mains apparently "isn't a fighter" anymore i have to bank solely on eliot. even in doa4 with all its horseshit he was pretty solid and really only held back by its garbage mechanics. specifically no guaranteed backturned follow ups which made up a lot of his holds and throws. so unless TN completely screw him over to brad wong-like proportions im sticking with him whether he's top tier,mid tier, or low tier it doesn't matter
It depends on exactly how bad the low tier characters are. If the character balance is as bad as DOA4, then I'll probably switch to someone better.
I still use Tengu in DOA4, and I'm fine with dealing with his low tier drawbacks because I've already done so for so long, and I only have to for another month and a half. When DOA5 hits though, I probably won't deal with it again if whoever I initially pick turns out to suck. Unless of course the game is actually balanced, and the low tier characters aren't at that big of a disadvantage.
Of course, it won't really matter to me when I'm just having fun with my friends though. I'll pick whoever I want during those matches.

nope, never cared for the rest of the cast to begin with and nothing i've seen from them in 5 really impressed me to the point where i want to main them. the only other potential character i'd be interested in is mila and thats only if she turns out to be a grappler similar to leon, otherwise it'll be eliot and eliot alone

I've been a Helena main since 2001, so I can easily answer that question. Even as a bottom tier character she had some tools to work with, she was especially evasive and great at mix ups, but she lacked damage, speed, priority, etc. . . I seriously doubt any character in DOA5 is going to be unusable at tournament level play, unless some glitch is discovered and Team Ninja refuses to balance patch some things they missed. Which of course they will be doing.
