Rachel and Momiji aren't exactly DOA girls either you know.

And yet they HAVE appeared in crossover costumes. Add to that the fact that both were considered for doax3 with Momiji actually making the cut. Also, remember that doa and ng are shared universes; theres no difference between calling them doa girls or ninja gaiden girls as they are clearly both.

The evidence is clear: the argument that Rachel and Momiji are guests due to coming from the NG games is an INCORRECT assumption.

Hell, lets also remember that unlike the VF characters and Mai, their backstories were made to explain their appearance. Yes, fine, had a backstory to explain her appearance in doa but until she gets featured in more doa games (like a dlc character for doax3, for example) or TN makes it clear that the warriors series is indeed set in the same universe as doa (meaning all the crossover appearances are canon), then she still counts as a guest character.

Sometimes (no, often!) those anime/JRPG inspired costumes really don't work with DOA5s look.

Yeah, it looks infinitely better in 2D form.

They royally fucked the 3D counterpart to hell and back, a cute costume ruined by lackluster modeling

Naotora though, she is from Samurai Warriors, that is not only a different I.P, in a different universe and timeline, but she also comes from the Koei side of Koei Tecmo, While Team Ninja and its IP's comes from the Tecmo side of Koei Tecmo, and team ninja also has more freedom with their creations than they have with SW, so that explains they appearing in crossover costumes and naotora not.

The "timeline in-universe" argument might not be enough these days for what is considered a "guest character" after what T7 did where they insist Akuma is an in-universe character now despite the improbability of such a thing.
