I love how much more colorful and vibrant the game, especially the Duscae region, has become:

Duscae1.jpg

(pictures are blurry because I grabbed them from a trailer.)

Before it felt a little drab even in the sunlight. Chapstick knows what I mean. ;)
They also expanded the world and added elements that were not there before. For example that huge formation in the background to the right of the picture above. It is completely new and wasn't present in the Duscae demo. I believe that structure can be seen up close in this scene:

Duscae5.jpg

This is the Duscae valley from another perspective and in the background (in line above Prompto's head) you can see a very big building with a middle tower, that wasn't there before either. I really wonder what this is about...

Duscae4.jpg

I really can't wait to explore this world! :) And even though everything indeed feels pretty realistic and closely inspired by our own world I think the world of FFXV is still fantastical and exciting enough. Maybe it is even the fantastical spin of our own world that is so exciting to me. More than super crazy game worlds like for example in Xenoblade (even though I love those too of course).

hmm maybe that building in Duscae is some kind of nature watching place? I have no idea but it will be interesting to see when the game finally comes out at the end of September. And yeah its nice to see a game that feels pretty realistic without it just going for a grey and brown style. its real but they've kept what makes it Final Fantasy.

I like natural/green environments better than futuristic ones or cities. I spent a lot of time in the Wildlands in LR, but Duscae looks better in every way, there's not even the need to say this lol, I'll probably be messing around in Duscae for a long time when the game releases, and in Tenebrae too, I just saw an artwork of it and it looks so GREEN, I like it xD

@Jadeinchains Also..... remember than Luna was supposed to be a guest character and we had to join her "party" eventually ? ALL LIES.
According to this interview :
"You will not be able to play as Luna in combat, or fight alongside her.

Despite her large role in the story, Luna will not be your pal in battle. But the team hopes that people find her lovable, and they feel she will appeal to players easily. She will play a huge part in Kingsglaive."

I know it doesn't matter at all since we're only able to play as Noctis..... but I was looking forward to see how she'd have fought...

So when they said that they must have just been trying to make people stop saying there was no female party members! And silenced them with the lie that Luna would be playable.

That's really sad because I was looking forward to that too. I'm happy to know before playing the game though otherwise I'd be wondering when she was going to appear the whole game!

Thanks for that interview! :D Very interesting parts in there...

"14. You will not be able to play as Luna in combat, or fight alongside her."

And I think I know exactly why... ;) I said it earlier...but I'm pretty sure Luna will at some point be our, not enemy, but opponent in the game. We will fight not with her but against her. FFXIII Versus was very similar in that regard with Stella and I think they didn't change that at all.

Both games actually don't even have a release date yet. ;) Dissidia will probably not even come out on console this year and for WoFF it says on Wikipedia:
"The game is set to be released for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita systems sometime in 2016."

Lol, so modern day countries such as Germany apparently do really exist in FFXV's universe. Not just was the car in that game and film made by Audi, but there's also German text in Insomnia:

image_final_fantasy_xv-31361-2754_0007.jpg

The billboard in one of the screens of the Kingsglaive trailer says: "Vorsprung durch Technik" which means "Advancement through Tech"

Other countries and brands of countries so far were from the US (Duscae), Japan (Insomnia) though they got rid of all the Japanese text and driving on the left side of the road, Italy (Altissia) and Cuba (Lestallum).

That's cool. It makes the world of Eos seem more real if there's more languages used than just English. I wonder why they got rid of the Japanese for Insomnia? Now it looks like a mix of English and German.

Also I wouldn't be surprised if people have a problem with the product placement ruining immersion but I'll just consider it that Audi exists in the XV world now.

PS: I really want to see the city based on Manchester!

well now I know where they're getting all this money to make anime and movies. It's because they're full of boring and expensive product placements.

Don't know if you guys noticed it but you can find an Italian text in Altissia in the Platinum Demo, precisely on the ice cream cart, it says "Gelati Galigione" ("Galigione" is probably just an Italian surname).

I would imagine they got rid of the Japanese text, left side driving and the Yakuza inspired royal family of Insomnia to appeal more to a universal audience. The US, EU and new markets like South America and Arab countries make up by far the biggest part of today's gaming market and I think the PS4 just sold about 2-3 units in Japan. Xbone is completely forgettable there. Still I don't understand how Japanese influences in a fictional country would be problematic or even repellent. I don't think anyone would mind really. I for one would have loved it actually. There are also strong influences of other countries in the FFXV's world. Anglo-Saxon culture has become pretty universal but there also are Italian influences and Italian text on the ice cream stalls in Altissia, did you notice them? Now there are German brands and German text on advertisements in the city, Lestallum is clearly inspired by Cuba/Havanna... So what is the problem with Japanese?
Maybe the explanation is much easier. Maybe the reason is Nomura being a fan and proud of his own Japanese culture and Tabata who took over and made FFXIII Versus become FFXV feels more inspired by places that are exotic to him?

What city is Manchester inspired by the way? I only heard you ever talk about that before. Is there some interview where Tabata announced this? :)

Yes I noticed that! :) I thought it was a very cool touch. I was two times in Venice already and I think it is just lovely. I hope they manage to bring some of that special atmosphere to the game. The demo did unfortunately not give that to me. But there Altissia was completely devoid of life, so I hope that was the reason I wasn't impressed at all.

Yeah I don't think anyone would have a problem with Japanese influences here and there considering its a Japanese game in the first place.

And for the Manchester thing the FF wikia says this.

"The world of Final Fantasy XV is similar to the real world with modern technology, such as cars and highways, but also contains countries with medieval elements, such as castles and armored soldiers. The game's locations are based on real world places. So far, the following replicas have been seen or confirmed by the developers: Piazza San Marco and Basilica (from Venice, Italy), Manchester (England), a U.S. gas station and Shinjuku (an area of Tokyo, Japan), and the Bahamas."

Its possible they could have there information way off but I'm hopeful that its true.

Manchester is known for being an industrial city, right? Maybe some of the factory-like structures we saw were inspired by Manchester or a place we haven't seen so far? Niflheim maybe? :)

Regarding Altissia, here it already appears much more life-like and atmospheric than in the demo:

(images are again very blurry because I grabbed them from the trailer.)

So I still have hopes for it to become a beautiful place. They really did themselves a disservice with the demo rendition in my opinion. :/

Yeah Altissia has the potential to me the most beautiful location in the game and in the demo it was so dull and muted. The hundreds of people and noices of day to day life in the full game as well as not being cut off from any areas will bring it to life.

They really have to step up their game there. They have to compete with amazing video game cities like Paris in AC: Unity or London in AC: Syndicate, Arkham City in Arkham Knight and Novigrad in The Witcher 3. These cities are so beautiful, full of details and atmosphere and they are in open world games too so no excuse for FFXV to have less beautiful cities.

Here's how the new city in The Witcher 3's upcoming extension will look like:

By the way @Jadeinchains aren't you interested in The Witcher at all? o . O

Yeah they really do have to step it up but luckily from what we've seen the full game is at that level its just that for some reason the demo isn't.

I haven't played the past two games because they didn't interest me but I'm very interested in Witcher 3 but now I feel like if I get into it I won't have a clue what is happen. Are the past two games on Xbox 360? The world interests me but I'm not sure the main character does.

Edit: Also maybe you've already said it but is that city based of Mont Saint Michel?

I also haven't played any of the other Witchers. ;) The story is still interesting and meant as a stand alone. Also you can read up on every character that you are interested in the game's character profiles. That should really be your least concern.
Actually, I think Geralt is an awesome character, lol. XD He is usually stoic (but has his emotional moments too) and has this really dry, snarky humor. I love it!

And the way he talks...even in the game they make fun of him. XD

It's likely inspired by Mont Saint Michel as Toussaint is The Witcher's version of France. The North is typically Central European. (Remember when we talked about Rothenburg in the Graphics thread?) The Skellige Islands are Inspired by Skandinavia.

A little disappointed in the demo but hey, free summon.

Is the Armistice a convertible? In the trailers I've seen its roof is down.

Isn't FFXV releasing on September 30th? even FF articles out there says it is. Siliconera doesn't usually lie either (Except for one Persona 5 article awhile back, but that's because there was something in the game that had to be changed.)

http://www.siliconera.com/2016/03/3...e-on-september-30-limited-editions-announced/

http://www.engadget.com/2016/03/30/final-fantasy-xv-release-date-anime-movie-pc/

Now since Dissidia is arcades format, it takes a full year in a similar fashion to Tekken to setup a console release date. I'm expecting 2016 with rough changes and expansion of the roster.
