How the hell did you manage that

Old method from the PS2 where you open the disc tray the moment the summoning commences causing the game to hang from Yuna to not summon at all, pop it back in, finish the battle -Do it twice- and voila, full party.

For PS3, (downloadable version only so far.) You exit to the XMB bar, wait about a minute then go back in..if it freezes, wait for a couple seconds and it will refresh. Whatever you do don't check the Sphere grid, It will freeze completely so save it on a separate file if the Aeons are stuck as actual party members.

New Gameinformer video report:

FFXV-GAS.jpg

http://www.gameinformer.com/b/featu...al&utm_source=twitter.com&utm_campaign=buffer

There's quite a bit of gameplay from the first chapter of the game in it, so it is a bit spoilery...just a tiny bit and it's the very first chapter of the game. ;)

The environments all look very large and interesting...at the same time also pretty barren and sterile. :/ *sigh* The Luminous engine really seems to struggle with open world environments (at least on consoles). We have seen much better environments in GTA5, MGS5 and even Fallout. And two of those are actually cross generation games.

I'm not not sure if I want to watch it because in one wayvit would be great to see probably the most gameplay available yet. But at the same time I want it to be a surprise!

The gameplay snippets are each maybe 3-5 seconds long and show a few areas (which were also shown in the environment trailer of the Uncovered event, so no spoilers there) but Tabata explains a little what's happening at the very beginning of the game. But since it is the very beginning...is it really spoilery? It's practically the tutorial section. Don't know if its already too much info for you...

Everything you need to know about the flying Regalia:

flyingcargif610.gif

Even after seeing the footage, some fans speculated that it might not be a full-blown vehicle, and the take-off is just a short sequence that plays before the fast-travel menu opens. We can assure you, that is not the case; we flew the Regalia ourselves during our visit to Square Enix’s offices.

It may not look like a traditional airship, but it functions similarly. The ground falls away after take-off and you soar in the sky, with full control over your movements. You travel quickly, but the world of Final Fantasy XV is much bigger than earlier installments, so it doesn’t seem like it would be possible to circumnavigate the globe in a matter of seconds.

As exhilarating as it may be to cruise through the air, don’t expect to get your wings easily or early. “The player will obtain the flying Regalia near the end of the game as an additional challenge,” says Final Fantasy XV director Hajime Tabata. “When certain conditions are met, the car is remodeled to the flying model.”

Amazing! O: I was one of the fans who thought that maybe the sequence from the trailer was just a pretty cutscene that would play before the fast travel menu opens. The world of FFV must be even more open then I thought...

Kinda just tradition isn't it? At the 3/4 mark or later you get the ability to free roam easily to go back and explore old areas in most final fantasies don't you?

That's not the thing here that is so great...
First of all, Final Fantasy IX was the last mainline entry that let you fly around a continuous world yourself. And the worlds only consisted of very crude, undetailed overworlds (not real worlds):

latest

It's the immense size and detail of FFXV's world combined with the fact that it is actually freely maneuverable that is so great as well as it is a great technical achievement. To give you an idea just how huge this world is:

20150902202218163.png

It is about 15 times larger than GTA5 or the Witcher 3!
We already knew of this size for some time but that somehow didn't feel that impressive because everyone thought most of the map was actually not explorable/accessable and that regions like Duscae, Altissia or Tenebrae were large but clearly seperated from each other. Probably through loading times like in The Witcher 3. The sudden reveal of free air travel shows though that this map is actually one continuous piece.
Not knowing this, many, including me, always wondered what the big deal was with Hajime Tabata repeating again and again for years how they are looking into implementing airships and that it was apparently so difficult. Months ago they announced to team up with Avalanche Studios (specializing in in open world games such as the Just Cause series and Mad Max) to implement this feature. No wonder it was so difficult, took so much time and another game studio's assistance...when they had to create the largest game world of it's kind ever.
How big of an achievement this actually is should have become clear to everyone the second Square Enix decided the reveal of air travel to be the grand finale of the Uncovered event.

I'm gonna be honest here.

I could care less how big the world is.

Largely because more often than not (like most gtas and the Witcher), its just a whole lot of nothing that amounts to little more than padding the game by forcing you to kill time traveling between points.

So unless that world is filled to the brim with cool stuff to see/do/collect, then its pointless to me.

Yeah sure its impressive on a technical level but it usually just means you'll be reenacting Samurai Jack. Mostly just walking around then 5 minutes of something happening followed by another 20 minutes of nothing lol.

Only game that's ever worked for me is Shadow of the Colossus.

Granted I got bored of GTA and Witcher before I got too far in them so I'm just talking first impressions on those two.

So with that in mind, back to my point. Being able to free roam with an airship was kinda tradition so no surprise there.

Actually having to fly across a world that large though, is a bad thing. Hopefully there is either a fast travel option, or a way to keep flight interesting because the novelty will wear off fast then you've just got boring regular passenger plane trips that will be eating up a LOOOT of your playtime. Glad its only available at the end for novelty as an unlockable.

Its cool and all but I'm thinking in terms of practicality and game design.

Again, it's a great technical achievement. The game world not being to your personal liking doesn't really matter here. ;) That's a whole other discussion.

Regarding that discussion:
If GTA5 or The Witcher 3, which are widely considered the current high points of open world games, didn't please you gameplay-wise then that genre is probably nothing for you. ;) Shadow of the Colossus is a whole other genre actually.
Last but not least, which were the last GTA and The Witcher games that you actually played? I thought you were basically homeless until recently and had neither a PC nor a current gen console? Also, when we talked about The Witcher 3 some time ago in the graphics thread you didn't seem to have played it nor did you have any interest to play it. I often have the feeling you like to judge and complain about games you didn't even play or have any incentive to play.

God! As usual it didn't alert me to new posts!

Well calming down this is amazing news! This is definitely going to be great, flying around the world and hopefully accessing secret islands only possible by airship with secrets like a gigantuar on it or something. I also think it looks the best looking out of all the airships as well.

I'm shocked @Argentus that you aren't interested in using the airship to each their own I suppose though.

Still this just makes me even more hyped for this game than I already was, which is a lot! :)

I know I seem to be the only one interested in this game but a while ago more screenshots for World Of Final Fantasy came out so here they are. And there's a lot by the way!

And that's them all! *phew*
Is anyone else interested in this game?
If anyone isn't then its still worth having them here for the sake of it.

You can really tell it's intended to be a kid's game. I believe that's what they said about it, it's meant to be a starting point for kids to get into the final fantasy games.

Well hopefully their smarter than I was back then since the first time I played FFX years ago I couldn't even get past sins fleas and was stuck there until I got the game again a couple of months ago.

It looks very pretty and cute. :) But I can already sense the story, battle system and the length of the game are all pretty limited to especially cater to kids. I wished they would do an oldschool JRPG in a look like this. Like a Golden Sun or Secret of Mana.
