First DOA5 pre-order bonus

That sucks GameStop won't take your money.

Why the hell are they breaking up their DLC between retailers? What point does that serve, only in the end to have it all on the market place?
Apparently how multi-store pre-order incentives work is like this.

Store A offers to have exclusive content to increase preorders.
StoreB has the same Idea.
Either both stores come to a compromise or the Publisher does and splits the pre-orders among the different retailers, hence why it's only 3 girls per store, think that there are more girls to use for this pre-order system.

This creates a decision in where the consumer wants to purchase their product, if Store A's content suits the consumers needs better then Store B this information is saved by the Publisher for future marketing plans, to see how well which content was bought over another.

This also dictates whether or not consumers are willing to pay money for the same content as DLC later on XBL or PSN(though they must come out of pocket to do that), and for what price.

physical junk costs retailers money.

imaginary junk does not.
depends on the item and if they have marketing tie-ins with those products, those bobble buddies actually were popular and cost little to no money to manufacture. Posters too, however other little things are getting more scarce or are being thrown into Collectors Editions because they know people will buy the swag. Even Some Collectors Editions are just thrown together and are pretty bad.

This is gonna pose the same DOA5 Alpha problem for me. I want the Collector's Edition but the GameStop retarded exclusivity will make it VERY difficult for me. As I mentioned back when Dynasty Warriors with Busa came out, Gamestop refuses to accept my american credit card because the billing address is from my country, even if I want the item shipped to a location inside the USA. Amazon has never given me this shit.

I'm already sending tweets to Team Ninja about it. Players like Wizz and FakeSypha who are from Argentina or myself, from Venezuela will not be able to buy the CE from Gamestop due to a retarded policy of not accepting credit cards with both billing and shipping address in the USA, even if the card is american.

Hmm, not sure why wouldn't they accept your credit card. They do accept paypal, right? I never actually bought from GameStop because of their retarded international shipping rates. When in most sites shipping to Argentina costs from 6 to 10 dollars, GS charges over 40 bucks to ship a SINGLE game in a bubbled envelope with no insurance/tracking or whatsoever. Yeah, no thanks. I can imagine how much they'll charge you for a CE.

Fortunately for me, I have still chances to get this CE. Game is the European subsidiary division from GameStop if I'm not mistaken. I have relatives in France, and my mother is visiting them on September. So I'm crossing my fingers for Game to distribute the CE too. Don't care if the game is region locked, I have preordered the NTSC-U version already.

Having to import everything kinda sucks, but then you just get used to it and then... it still sucks. Is either that, or pay like over 300 bucks on local retailers.

I was SO certain you were a spambot, damn you. Ah well.

I'm grabbing the CE for the steelbook case. Love those. Poster is neat but I couldn't care less about the rest. It's a shame, too, because the NG3 CE was insanely good.

It won't be up on their site for a few days if it works the way it usually does. The publisher sends the information over, Gamestop corporate populates the SKU(s) in their system and then blasts it out to their stores. I kept in contact with Aileen after she left Tecmo and started working with Aksys and there was a pretty long delay with BlazBlue: CSE being announced and then being able to be ordered. Just an FYI, you can often order in-store before the site updates.

Let me explain again what the situation is on my part:

I live in Venezuela, but my father has a North American credit card for when he travels around, sometimes he lets me use it for gaming shit in Amazon. Everything about the credit card is as if we were American except for the billing address because well, we live in Venezuela and the billing updates are naturally addressed here. The shipping address is of no problem at all because I have a company that receives the stuff I buy in Miami and then they send it down here withing ten days and I find that faster and cheaper than sending the packages directly home.

The thing is that the Gamestop website does not allow me to pay them with this credit card simply because the billing address (which shouldn't even matter) is a Venezuelan one. When the NG3 shit happened, I e-mailed and tweeted them a couple times and the best response I got was a simple "We don't take credit cards with every data inside the US", so I had to buy the crappy game from Amazon and get the Hayate/Ayane demo until I won the premium code from Mr Wah.

Now, I'm pretty sure that the CE will eventually be available in Amazon just like it happened to the NG3 one but I'd have to pay much more for it (100+ bucks) and wait a minimum of two months before people start selling it there. I'm willing to come to an agreement with anyone who wants to help me by buying any ~80 dollars package from Amazon and sending it to your house and you buying the DOA5 CE for me and send it to the Miami address I have. It'd be like a trade where I buy somebody's games and he/she buys my DOA5.

EDIT: I got a small response on Twitter from Team Ninja. It says: "- more info to come - Go Team Latin America!" This gives me a little hope that they might sell the CE in Amazon since I also notices the Australian DOA site whining about them having the exact same problem with Gamestop and the players from the far-away country not being able to get the game in that form.

I hope things work out for you too Mike, I helped a few guys get copies of SFxT on SRK, so If it comes down to the wire I can order you a copy *tho it maybe a few days later* but it shouldn't cost you up the wazoo just to get the CE.

So you want to give them 80 dollars, and they won't accept it?

This is what we call "retarded business structure".

They won't accept it because the address on his credit card is in a foreign country. Many business follow this rule because of fraud.

Ok, so I'm planning to buy DOA5 from Play N Trade because I already have a decent amount of store credit there. Will I have access to the same things even though they aren't Gamestop, Amazon, etc. I hope so... :(

Most likely no. Having unique pre-order bonuses creates incentive to order from certain retailers so they will all have different stuff for pre-orders.

If that's the case then I might just end up buying the game and DLC the costumes later(though I hope get something for preordering even if it's a costume or something) Shoot, I didn't even preorder MK9 and I got a Katana costume when I bought it from Wal-mart. :/ Idk...

Wait, did they already announce a GameStop exclusive Collector's Edition, or something? Last I heard the CE was still Japanese exclusive. What's the deal?

The company I work for does exactly that.
If the credit card information isn't matching the location of the order, we follow up with the cardholder and see what is going on. Prevents a lot of fraud from occuring.

The did, but news has been kind of sporadic right now. Waiting for clarification to announce it on the front page.

In short, from what I gather they are doing a variety of things:

If you preorder the regular edition from Amazon you'll get a DLC white bunny swimsuit for Kasumi, Lei Fang, and Hitomi.
If you preorder the regular edition from Amazon you'll get a DLC black bunny swimsuit for Tina, Christie, and Ayane.
If you pick up the Collector's Edition that is specifically being sold at GameStop for $80 you'll get the swimsuit DLC for all the characters, the game soundtrack cd, a hard-cover art book, and the game case in a metal tin.
