Helena in DOA5U

If she loses her PFT, but her +13 and +15 sit down stuns became say +16 and her new sit down stun that leaves her in BKO guarantees CB like a lot of others she would have:

5 sit down stuns that guaranteed 9K (free launch).
2 sit down stuns that guarantee CB.

Combine this with her strong mix ups, heavy stuns and good evasion and she would be a great character. In my opinion she would be better than she is now.

There is no guarantee that the advantage from her SDS will be more than it is now. In fact, I truly don't think her stun game will be changes. If her PFT leaves we'll end up with a shitty character whose "unholdable" stuns will be useless. It's gonna ba blonde Hitomi with bigger tits.

Besides, even if she got a free 9K off any SDS her juggles and damage potential right now are garbage. That + 300 life = no-tier Hele. I'd rather deal little damage but have my PFT than having a free 9K that will only give me a... what¿ 236PKP¿ No thanks.

DOA4 Hele with actually-good SDS would be nice, I give you that. But DOA5 Hele is extremely far from being DOA4 Hele and all this bitching about her PFT will end up in us getting a really lame character.

She's completely boring... you need to create that stupid vortex to win using her.

I don't expect everyone to be unaware of her PFT potential, right now, she doesn't work on every situation, you already said.... shes incomplete.

But yeah, righ now, without her PFT she will becomes sucks, but I don't think a charater has to rely on a single tool to be good, just this, I want TN to give us a better character, not just a 'fake' one.

I like Helena in DOA5. I think the whole ground game needs a little reworking in DOA5, not just Helena's pseudo force tech game. On another note, I personally hate pp2kp. I liked it in DOA4, but the stun of pp2k is much nicer in DOA5, and it can be delayed to eternity (like a 23 - 24 frame delay). I think the low kick may be a little OP, but I don't care. I also didn't like the fact that pp2kp promoted the use of lazy combos. In DOA4, I always preferred ending a combo BKO 4pk, 9k because it took more effort. The only thing I will miss about pp2kp in DOA4 was the bokuho wall combo p, pp2k2, 6ppk.

I like the blender. I like the animation of it, I like that it is safe (most of the time), I like that it keeps the opponent close to you at the end of a combo. Ending a combo with qcf pkp is stupid, because it sends the opponent flying halfway across the stage, so unless it will KO you, I prefer not to do it. The only thing I don't like about the blender, is again, that it promotes the use of lazy combos, with many people ending a combo with 33p, 33p4p. If you can't go into bokuho and do 4pk, and then 33p4p, you should not be using Helena. However, I do feel as though the blender animation is in too many of her moves, and that's all she has become. If they varied up her move set a bit, and brought back things like bko 6p4ppk from DOA4, then many people wouldn't have as much animosity toward it.

I do miss using Helena in DOA2, because no one really used her. She was crap, but she was tricky. I would be very happy if they got rid of her superficial, easier things if they just made her bokuho duck the same exact way it was in DOA2U. Oh, and if they brought back jumping punch too. I miss being able to jump.

That would be awesome, won't happen though. That bikini kind of weird's me out though. It doesn't look sexy it looks kind of whorey to me.

She's like a mermaid abandonned on Lorelei's rock, she has no other choice but to consume the rest of her beauté fatale, after losing her Samsonian ponytail...

Honestly, she could've gotten a much better swimsui- actually, it's not even a swimsuit. Sure, I love boobs as much as the next guy, but isn't Helena supposed to be classy and elegant? She should've gotten her blue pareo-like swimsuit. Sigh. At this point I just really want her ponytail to be back. Or her bow. Just, that would be so awesome. I don't even like her hair down. It's just not the iconic Helena I've come to love. Oh well. There's always DOA6.

The beads and sea shells are pretty fancy. I love this bikini on her. How she's going into bokuho in that thong is going to be interesting.

I don't think it was necessary, but welp this is DOA. I'll be using this sometimes for the lulz.

According to Emporer_Cow, Force Techs are not entirely gone, but have been "changed". Hopefully this means we can have an Helena closer to her previous incarnation without her PFT's. Some stuff I'd like to see are better sitdown stuns (which may have happened already with that new move), the return of her BKO force tech (hey, he said they're not completely gone, right?), and just for her to be buffed in her other general areas due to her lost PFT's. But who knows what TN will do at this point.

FTs not gone, just not guaranteed... so not as useful :p PFT is by definition not guaranteed so maybe still in, honestly I got no info on 5U Helena but there are rumors of nerfs since several top players are complaining about her (both US and JP).

I heard a rumour that FT's can only be done with strong low attacks. If that is true then 33P4P > 6P would no longer work but 33P4P > 2K would still be viable. Also PP4K > 66K2 would still work.

This is just a theory though.

Hopefully nothing except her PFT is nerfed, everything else she has is rather meh. When you say FT's aren't guaranteed hopefully you don't mean that is universal. Tina without her FT's would be even worse than she is now.

I think it's a universal change to the gameplay but can't say for sure... I know at least 5 characters lost their FTs though. Tina's ground throw should still be guaranteed since it's not FT (unlike Bass) but I can't confirm

BTW what's a strong low attack? Like a sliding kick or something? Because I've read Ayane and Leifang can't FT with their sweeps anymore
