The difference is (as people already said) that you can't react on a combo-drop or anything. How can't you see that? If you'd watch a tournament and one of the contestants just drops his controller in a match you'd be okay with it? Now you're not on a stage or in a tourney, but you shouldn't wonder that people find you disrespectful when you do that.Real quick.
Explain what the difference is between
Me holding the controller as I watch my character get guarantee combod
And
Me not holding the controller as I watch my character be guarantee combod?
No, it's not disrespectful if someone gives it everything in a match. You get steamrolled? Ask the dude if he wants to help you training AFTER the match. Then you can talk with him and he can give you a hand. He doesn't? Don't play him again. Easy as that. I don't know how automated matches work in this game, but if you can't stand being steamrolled, don't play automated. It'll happen when you play against people of various skill. But no one likes an opponent who just afk's.As for "should they not give their all to give you a chance", YES. That's why I ease up when I see someone can't keep up. Its downright insulting to just steamroll someone who doesn't know what to do. Its literally just corpse kicking (which is precisely what force techs are now that I think about it) for an entire match. A tournament match is a different case of course but we aren't talking about that.
