Why does it matter? She will just be replaced with another matchup you don't understand.
Probably one with more moves too. I'm hoping that Phase 4 implements some of Alpha's moves. 8T OH BREAK -- I loved this move so much.As much hate as Alpha gets, she breaks down some nasty habits in some of my own matchups. For one, I don't see a lot of people zoning me. I hate it more than anything when people go to opposite ends and pointlessly zone for years acting like they can somehow predict the next move. To me it's a pretentious activity and Alpha gets to the bottom of it so it doesn't last long.
She also teaches players how to guard properly. If you don't want to get setup for burst, learn to crouch! It'll avoid three of her best moves, and she won't be able to follow up much when a player crouches. She will get some damage but not enough! Some say Alpha is a beginner character, I say she's the character that breaks nasty habits from so called veterans.

I mean, you kind of have to zone her because of how fast she is. Should only be pressuring her after you force her into the wake up situation and corner her into a wall.
Too much zoning results in you receiving a long ranged offensive hold. Sure you can duck it, but it has a way of connecting for the fast crouchers. Most times I lose with Alpha it's because of the pressure game, someone that's nervous to fight her perishes quickly.

I kinda thought they would connect Marie Rose with Bayman and Christie. I mean her blue outfit is a really loli stylized version of a spy costume. Though it would be cool to have a very serious cold femme fatale. I don’t care if she is more mature like Helena, Lisa, and Christie or if she is more like Marie Rose body type and style, but cold and calculated. Both could be very interesting in the context of DOA.
Hmmm, we have some cold and calculated female characters, as well as plenty of silly ones. I'm thinking the new female character will not be either, probably an attitude closer to Kokoro or Momiji, but we'll see.

Honestly, you’re probably right, but I just think another moe would be kinda dull.. they usually feel out of place in DOA... like Kokoro doesn’t serve much of a purpose anymore and Honoka didn’t see much screentime in that last trailer as far as story goes, so how much could another moe add to DOA?
I want a character who is going to bring something different to the table... that’s why I keep saying she should have a similar body type to Marie Rose. We have a ton of curvy and/or busty women..
I doubt the new female will be another 12 year-old/loli character.

As a man of culture I would not mind a flat non-loli.
Also, I have quite some Vietnamese friends and they would all love to see a Vietnamese character, doesn't matter if male or female, and maybe with some Vietnamese fighting style. They have their arts too but no one seems to know about them

Its not about being nervous to fight her. If I'm Jann Lee I'll be slightly more aggressive, but if I'm Hitomi, I'm not going to get in your face. Alpha is significantly faster plus her parries and I'm going to lose out a lot. I'd rather zone, whiff punish you and force you to the ground where at that point I can pressure you because of the recovery on wake up.

Actually Hitomi is fast, she can crush any speed advantage Alpha has (at least my bf was able to) ... and Alpha's parries MISS an assortment of Hitomi's moves completely after the teleport and she gets no damage from it at all and is set up for a hit. I've gotten hands from Hitomi before, but based on how your approach would be, I think I'm more than confident your strategy wouldn't work.
I've put up with Alpha haters for a long time, and I don't know why. Their voice in the whole thing really meant nothing, the character won a ton of tournaments, she was never banned, and before NEC 13 people said she was the worst character in the game when she was perhaps the best. So whatever the case may be, she made the roster more unique, IMO, more so than your Hitomi and Jann Lee (nothing against those two) and it's too bad she won't continue to be in the game.
