I would like to see a new male character, but knowing TN I doubt that's going to happen. Actually, @KwonJigglypuff came up with a character of his own which I would really want in the game. He calls him Sid, and this is his visual representation:

Something along the lines of this would be awesome and original. His appearance reminds me of Xiba from Soul Calibur V, and I really like Xiba. Although Xiba is not an islander, the appearances of Sid and Xiba are very similiar. I would be pumped if Sid would be made an actual character and would totally try to learn him.

I would also be happy with a male character dressed in black clothes with black hair. A cool guy who cares for everyone around him. Like Kirito from Sword Art Online:

Saw this idea on DOAWORLD, I would love if DOA had Korean Twins (or even just one Korean Girl)

anime_twin_render_by_zombieusagi-d518su8.png

Name: Tae Soo-min (right)
Age: 19
Nationality: South Korean
Fighting Style: Hei Hu Quan (Black Tiger Fist)
Occupation: Bodyguard, Heiress
Attitude: Outgoing; warm-blooded; rash; hard-working; joyful; naturally aggressive; cocky; hates to lose; rule-breaker

Appearance
Skin Tone: Fair
Hair Color: Black
Hair Style: Short, shoulder-length, straight bangs
Eye Color: Hazel
Height: 5'1"

Story: Soo-min was born into a wealthy South Korean family; owning a large corporation. The parents had originally decided on giving Soo-min the ownership of the company when she came of age, however, she developed a very aggressive personality. She constantly started fights with other children. To solve this problem, her parents signed her up for Kung Fu lessons hoping that her violent behavior would be relieved. They were wrong. Soo-min continued her habit of picking fights, and she had the training to boot. Warm-blooded, Soo-min loved the feeling of winning a brawl. Nevertheless, her aggressiveness wasn't her only trait. She did have a passion of loving and protecting her family; her sister especially. As her sister was awfully shy and sickly, Soo-min would always be around to help her get through awkward situations and to safeguard her from anybody who would try to hurt her. As they grew older, Soo-min's habits were fading, but she was still the same stubborn, cocky, aggressive girl she was before. She finally decided not to pursue college, and instead focuses on defending her sister, the only heiress to her father's corporation. But, when the sixth Dead or Alive Tournament flier made its way to the Tae's doorstep, her fiery passion enveloped her, and she finally had a new goal in life.

Name: Tae Mi-young (left)
Age: 19
Nationality: South Korean
Fighting Style: Bái Hè Quán (White Crane Fist)
Occupation: Heiress
Attitude: Extremely shy; acts as a 'peacekeeper'; sensible; down-to-earth; studious; hard-working; aggressive when provoked

Appearance
Skin Tone: Fair
Hair Color: Black
Hair Style: Long, waist-length, straight bangs
Eye Color: Amber
Height: 5'1"

Story: Mi-young was born into a very wealthy family in South Korea. When she was young, she grew very sickly and was bed-ridden for the majority of her childhood life. This led her to become sheltered and extremely shy, but her sister was always there for her when she needed a friend. After years of hospitalization, Mi-young and Soo-min developed a sisterly bond like no other. As she grew older, Mi-young became healthy and started going back to school. Right away, she saw a difference in her sister, and she did the best she could to try and calm her down. This worked temporarily as Soo-min deeply cared for her sister's opinions of her. Nevertheless, the fighting continued. Because of her sister's aggressive personality, their parents disowned Soo-min and in their will, they stated they would give everything to Mi-young; including the corporation. Soo-min, a little bitter, understood, but decided to be Mi-young's bodyguard in order to safeguard her from assassins and others who would do her sister harm. When Soo-min set her sights on the Dead or Alive Tournament, Mi-young decided to tag along and sign-up as well in order to make sure her sister wouldn't lose control of herself.

Tbh I feel like we are going to get a trap, and to be more specific a male character who looks like a female character (although I can see a female who looks like a male being in too).

With DOAX3 being in development and with speculations that the next character will also be the mascot for DOAX3 (like how Lisa was the mascot in DOAXBV), they may be trying a new idea with the new character for both 5LR and X3 and I can see a trap happening especially in X3 for the "mysterious gender" reference. Plus a trap could be made to test the soft engine again.

I can see him being inspired by the Boku No Pico characters

Or Briget from Guilty Gear

Or if they go for a adult/mature character then someone like Sheva from King Of Combat/Xuan Dou Zhi Wang

We still don't have such a character though. I actually prefer the islander KwonJigglypuff came up with but I would be satisfied with pretty much any male character at this point in time.

you really do, but it's not shown much. Ryu and Momiji are the heroes of their world, that means saving anyone who needs saving while killing anyone harming someone else. its a darker version of what you are talking about, but that's basically what they do. Momiji especially, if she didnt have to kill anyone she would be the nicest person in the world probably.

Honestly, I hope that this new character has a TRUE interesting background and is at least in their twenties are older (no more Moe types please). As for their fighting style, I hope they make him (or her) play like The Boss (from MGS3).
mgs3theboss.jpg2.gif

same thing for her poplular "lick lips" act judging from the many times that Bokuho posted his gif here (place that is followed from TN's members) and on DOAW.
Stahp blaming me for things, Kronin. It's not my fault that TN stalks me on the internet haha

Anyways

For some reason I would kinda like a character like Taigong wang

from warriors orochi (I also thought that since DoA characters were in it maybe they might throw a WO character in Doa) Although I'm not sure how they would fit into the story.

Because I'm just so tired of generically cute girls. I want the new girl to have some flavor to her, yaknow?

I'd give them a 3/5 on DLC characters personally. Phase 4 was already in the story, and despite initial appearances is a lot like Alpha in that she doesn't really play like Kas once you start getting into it. Tengu fits pretty well into the game, they gave her a lot of personality that they forgot to give the other dlc girls. Raidou may be reusing moves, but I think he's pretty fun with his EGWF and interesting throw inputs. Honoka was a good idea (fast raidou) but the execution was decidedly lame.

Unforunately with Marie Rose they decided to give her the most boring design out of the concepts they made. They could have made her loli bayman and it would have been pretty cool.

I think all of these are better than what we got.

well one of those is basically Honoka, so maybe they have plans for the spunky(top right) and more mature(white coat)
The white coat design is close to howive been envisioning Nicoles redesign, but taller obviously.

If the new character is female, I hope she is kinda what Marie Rose was suppose to be before. A young female kung fu fighter with a serious and tsunadre attitude who'd have a rivalry with Ayane.
