The only issue I have with them is the same one I have with most enemies: they randomly ignore hitstun to grab you or smack you across the arena and because of the recovery on moves you're pretty much helpless and stuck watching your own death coming. It's gotten to the point that it rarely happens with me now because I'm pretty good at recognizing patterns and startup but it does still occasionally catch me.
Yeah, but they just do it a lot more. It's like they're constantly immune to staggers, and their huge-ass size obscuring the screen also doesn't help. Sometimes they're also chickenshits and fly/hide off-screen and swoop in for that buttlord grab when you had no idea they had even respawned. They also dash back all the time just to be a pain in the ass, and sometimes they randomly won't de-limb, whereas the same attacks will often de-limb them instantly. But most importantly, RYu REFUSES to prioritize them with his auto-target, making them a high threat you can rarely ever deal with until all other enemies are dead. They also look stupid. /endrant

Seems like a rather long combo, like it would give the Van Gelfs a chance to dash-off mid-string.
I'll try it out next time I whip up the game, though. The Scythe has been my weapon of choice on them ever sicne I discovered it's de-limb capabilities and i-frame madness.
Oh let me be clear, if they decide to ignore hitstun you're going to eat whatever they choose to dish out. If they do start to react to the hits, though, they'll sit in it until you tear their arm off. Honestly it's no more risky than any other move since the window before you can dodge out is still massive.
And that's why I love the Falcon's Talons.

I might go for 1000/1000 but I haven't decided yet. I dislike grinding out achievements and the level 50 and all skills are definitely grinds.
I played a match online and got to level three if that counts...but I haven't actively started using him, no.

A bit. It takes forever doing NTs though. I hear he has more skills than Ryu even in NT (which would be dumb), but I haven't gotten any personally.
I'm pretty sure UN has same moves as Ryu
And np, there is a lot of master ninjas in the chat that are well known, Critzo & Ryujuuin to name a few
Everyone is very nice and it's so fun reading people rage attempting UN trials, most the rage is because of genshin and Fiend Genshin

There's like 3+ genshin fiend genshin at least in every UN trial except 4 lmao
