NG2 and NGS2 both have their unique merits. I'm not totally convinced one is better than the other.
NG:B is better than S1, though. Yes, that is just my opinion but it's a really fucking solid opinion. The "pros" in S1 don't compensate for the losses it suffered from Black.

Lol, that's actually pretty funny. It's like most of the crowd already saw what happened in 2, and didn't feel like sticking around for Sigma 2.
It also had a level select (something that NG2 absolutely should have had), Emna's Fang, slightly better bow controls, theoretically-speaking it also had co-op and a few other things.

Well, I just paid for my pre-order in full. I'm still a little surprised that I'm getting it. I only beat NGS2 two times. There wasn't a difficulty that I really liked. Mentor wasn't hard and Master Ninja was just cheap. I only liked playing the co-op missions with my cousin. But I'll give it another try.
I think I only beat it twice too. Whatever it took to get the Dynasty Warriors costumes...that's where I stopped. Still, I love the game and this is another chance to play it. Being portable helps a lot.
I liked the "Beat the whole game using only ___ weapon" on the 360 version better.
They need to put NG3 RE up for pre order at GS so I can pre order it. Don't really want to buy it off amazon and wait for it to ship. If it takes too long I may just buy Tomb Raider(another game I badly want). For those getting ngs2+ tell me if it is worth it. Wasn't a fan of ng2 and I bought ngs2 originally for the co op which I would have enjoyed if the netcode didn't suck ass so we will see how it is for vita(no I don't expect it to be better).

Hyped for Tomb Raider as well. I'm getting it for PC, though
I'm going to go pick up my copy of Sigma 2+ soon, so I'll talk about it a bit. CE is writing a full review on it after he plays it enough, so that'll help even more.EDIT: Got my copy. Not going to say too much about it yet since I only played through the first chapter. From what I've played, it's a great port onto a handheld. No Japanese audio and online coop, however. The graphics are impressive considering the amount of action in the game. Frame rate dips a bit when there are 5+ enemies on the screen. The 30 fps doesn't seem to affect inputs or gameplay at all for me, but that wasn't an issue in NGS+ either. I am definitely happy with my purchase so far, but I'm anxious about the bow aiming.
On a side note, I am pissed at Tecmo/Gamestop. No pre-order code on my receipt; the entire internet seems to be abuzz about this issue. Apparently the manufacturer never provided any codes for costumes. I'm not obsessive over skins and bonuses, but I walked through a damn storm of freezing rain to pick this up instead of downloading it off of PSN. I'm sure this will be looked into, but just wanted to get that off my chest. /rant

Those seem like pretty big issues to me.

Honestly, they should just not dub these games like DOA 1-4, WO3. Ninja speaking in Japanese just sounds more authentic. Or they could go the Tekken route and just dub for American/European chars.
Have you gotten your copy yet, CE? Honestly, I'm having a blast with this game, but the platinum is seemingly impossible because of the tag missions. The partner's AI is still as bat shit stupid as ever and even with the tag mechanic, the higher difficulties will be near impossible to manage.
Anyone with a Vita should definitely pick this up. The Ninja Race mode is entertaining as well.
EDIT: I tried the bow and aiming mechanics via the Tag Missions and it is similar to the auto-aim mechanic in NGS2. Tapping the icon on the screen works the same way as R2 (or L2, I can't recall) in NGS2. This is a relief considering the aiming in NGS+ was mind boggling.
