Seeing more and more people just trying to stunlock the entire match. You know, same combos over and over that if they land it, trap me in stun where I can't counter out.
WHY IS IT SO HARD TO FIND GOOD FIGHTS?!
Honestly, this sounds like a good fight. One thing I love about 3d games over 2d, is my options aren't a limited in a 2d game. In 2D games, match-ups play a bigger role, but in 3d games, you can take even the weakest character to the next level.
My point is, the problem isn't the character your using, or the same combos, or the being stunlocked. The problem is you haven't came up with a solution to avoid them. And finding the solution to your opponent's gameplay is the fun aspect to the game.
I don't know why your bored playing this game. I'm excited even when I lose.

Your definition of rude and condescending is going to be much different than ours. I still don't see it, and judging by our difference of opinion on what it is, I don't think I ever will.

Raansu, yes. I'll say he's condescending. Most people will. He probably will. That's Raansu.

But in your status, you specifically labeled the entire website as bullies, and we're not. Nor am I.

You can be an online warrior, there's no doubt in that, but remember, at least(AT LEAST)25% of it is the netcode(which is better than it was), and the natural distance lag, as well as a vast amount of new players coming on to the scene.
Tell me about it. Sometimes lag destroying your ability to tech roll alone will fuck you over.

I know some of you guys can't handle Rikuto's "bullying"(pseudo aggressive comments, pseudo in the sense of at first glance they seem aggressive but really he's probably thinking it in a monotone voice lol),
I'd like to think I'm a nice guy, but I have a reputation for being one of the most critical assholes on the net simply because people misinterpret the tone or intent of what I say. It's a consequence of being analytical (probably sounding condescending here unintentionally...). As such, I wouldn't be surprised at all if some people do the same to Rikuto.

I use to be a scrub. I'm sure most of us did at some point. Things get hard. So what? Grow up and put on your big boy pants. That a trip to the lab and learn what options you have against it, or shut your mouth and figure it out in the moment.
I still don't know where the distinction lies, though I don't perceive "scrub" to be an insulting as a lot here do (similar to "noob" etc.). I'd like to think I'm not a scrub, but I'm far from a top-tier player. That said, I almost always take my losses as an opportunity for improvement. Yes, even when Kwiggle roasts and eats me alive, which he frequently does. Kwiggle and others are better than me, and my loss is not the attribute of anything but my own shortcomings (sometimes lag, too, but not in Kwiggle's case. He'd kill me anytime anywhere =P).
I think more people need that attitude. Sore losers are the scum of the Earth, imo. Or at least the scum of the DOA community.

You were pretty hostile to TFG, but that was legit since he doesn't know what the fuck he's talking about.
TFG? Let's see, TFG.....

Ah, yes. The Fighters' Generation. I must say, that was rare footage of me actually angry. I'm sorry if I startled you with such vulgar words, but it usually takes a lot out of me to say what I've said.

The only other person that really grinded my gears in such a way was UnderX... and that too was for a legit reason. He called me something rather vulgar that no one has ever called me before. But I digress.

Let's all just try to get along. And Virtua Mima, please consider what NinjaCW (Chris Harris) and Rikuto are saying in a more positive way.

Seeing more and more people just trying to stunlock the entire match. You know, same combos over and over that if they land it, trap me in stun where I can't counter out.

So its just either

a) I perfectly counter them the entire time due to how predictable they are. Insanely boring.

B) I slip up and they land a hit on me and just carry me across the stage for most of my health. Insanely boring.

WHy why why why WHY IS IT SO HARD TO FIND GOOD FIGHTS?!

Lol, at bad players who cry about fighting games.

This argument is interesting. Funny, I think I come to FSD more for the excitement of the arguments, than actually learning DOA lol.

I didn't snap out only because of this thread, and this is what some of you don't understand. I've seen it in so many other threads, I've been looking through threads recently caus' I only joined this website not too long ago, and I'm not gonna look through them again but if I see a foul post (and there are many) I'll make sure to let you guys know. People disagreeing over if Jann Lee should get nerfed of if Helena should get buffed maked for very catty conversations, and not only that. I've seen it a lot.

It does lean more on the competitive side, I still don't see why competitive = rude and condescending.
You have to give people straight answers. If they are trying to win, or rather, if they are unhappy with their situation, and want to change it, you can't beat around the bush. You have to go straight to the point. Anything else is inefficient and wastes people's time.

Since the problem is a personal one, the solution is going to seem "ad hominem".

If you just talk about things in general, well- people speak for their own truths. They may not sugarcoat it, but they are just saying what they think is right.

I have not seen out-and-out name-calling flame wars here (if there were, the moderators usually have stepped in). I see people who have strong beliefs- and when you have that, people aren't going to be gentle. It is just the way things are.

But in the broader context where everyone is suggesting changes for the game, and everyone has a vision of what the game should be, the kind of "well, it's not what is so get over it" mentality is actually a bit hypocritical.
How so?

The odds of Team Ninja changing the game drastically with the next patch are low. These kinds of changes are core to the game- you could only expect for them to be acknowledged with the release of a DOA6.

At this point in time, asking the game to be something it's not is a fruitless effort. I can't put it any other way.

To answer the post; find likeminded players? Look for specific connections. Don't play in ranked, because that will just get the kitchen sink, and it sounds like you don't want that.
I agree.

Nothing wrong with private lobbies. I usually have the most fun in them.

Wow. This keep getting better and better when I come on here. If you don't know how Silver been acting lately about DOA5 I suggest you just stop talking. This isn't just about the topic. It's about things he said in the past which is also why Rikuto responded the way he did. He wasn't being a jerk about anything. Considering how he handled this he was actually being NICE and MATURE about it.

Silver expects everyone to play DOA5 the way it isn't even meant to be played *cough* DOA4 *cough*. He have proven that he have a LOT to learn about the game just as well as a lot of people here. It's already bad enough a lot of people play the game online the way it's not meant to be played(lag tactics). Hell, if people where going around trying to be rude people would get insulted everytime the words "nerf" or "buff" come about(which is way too often already).

He pretty much told Silver he need to learn how to play the game CORRECTLY. Sounds like advice to me.

You guys, and gals, done?

Good.

Now, since the original poster hasn't responded, and you all feel like attacking one another for things neither 'side' has done while reading/looking for animosity or anger behind one's words, I'm locking this topic.

Carry on.

Oh, and Have a nice day. :)
