Do people actually play the F2P Soulcalibur game? I heard it was terrible, so I'm surprised Namco is still making DLC for the game.

I wanted to get into the SoulCalibur series, so I tried it for a short time.

I think the messy menu is already an indicator of me not enjoying this game. Sorry but I did not enjoy Lost Swords at all.

Imho Lost Swords is the absolute low point of the series (please don't judge the whole series by that!) and Soul Calibur IV and V were rushed, but decent games. I still really like Soul Calibur and after DOA it's my favorite fighter series. I hope, SC 6 will be as awsome as SC2 (absolute high point of the series!) again and it will blow us away with the most amazing graphics and art style ever. *__*

Each Soulcalibur game is drastically different in design. If you wanted to get into SC, personally, Lost Swords isn't the game to try that. Try SCII or SCV... or SCIV if you're into that mess.

Lost Swords is basically them experimenting, they've said this several times now.

OK, I understand. Actually, I was planning on buying SCIV since it's quite cheap now. So, I might as well try out the gameplay with Lost Swords since it's free.

Ummm and yes, I'm willing to go into that mess just for Setsuka

One question though. Is the element affinity on weapons something they introduced in LS or is it already a mechanic in the series?

It's new, but SCIV and LS are nothing alike at all. It's actually a lot slower, and movelists + mechanics are different.

Just be aware that the netcode for SCIV is really bad and it'll feel like you're playing in jello.

True, the netcode in SCIV is hella bad. But you can enjoy the other modes such as tower of souls. I recommend it if you don't mind playing offline. And also, you have a toon of different characters to play.
