There needs to either be a way to fiker out CaS in ranked, or a separate ladder for it.

Also needs a check for items that are beyond the in game size limits, to catch cheaters.

It was a surprise to me that they allow CaS characters in ranked. I was thinking that they would receive the same treatment as Inferno, as they should. What were they thinking?

It really shouldn't be a surprise since CaS characters are just the original characters with the only real difference is height (which has some effects in gameplay, from a competitive mindset could have customs do stuff that originals wouldn't do or change hurt/hit boxes), custom characters wouldn't be much of a big deal (exception from hacked items to make them larger than what the game allows) compare to OP Boss characters that games devs decided themselves to not make them playable online.

I think to balance it out they could just nullify the effects of hit boxes for create a souls and make it match up with the character they use the style of, so that way if a guy makes a create a soul who's a shorty with say Astaroths style, theyll still have his hurt and hit box. They also need to keep damage consistent because I've noticed that my female create a soul does more damage than my male one which is strange :-/

Nullifying the effects for create-a-souls is a good idea, although assuming character's height (without the effects) doesn't become a visual distraction for competitive players when dealing with a short character using Soul of Astaroth (even if custom's hitbox is the same as Astaroth normally a large guy). I also had an idea that height should be based on characters weapon style, something similar to Tekken if you had the ability to custom original characters other than customizing the default character roster. The reason your female creation does more damage is more likely due to the height system which changing height changes range & power.

Easy solution: make Nightmare unplayable online.

Then all the custom characters disappear.

but people who are thinskinned enough to get hot and bothered over a meme design totally deserve it as well

Create-a-Soul in Ranked isn't a complete bad idea, it just needs the right balance to make them fair for competitive players along with preventing modified objects like large apple & large cube (like Project Bokuho posted) what from invading Ranking.

Nope. You should just do what I do, write the measurements on notebook paper and then replicate everything, although I basically used my male character create a soul in Libra mode, I just gave him the narcissist voice instead of the young villager and made his waist like only 2 setting points smaller xD

For the record, the creation mode sucks. It was bad enough in previous games, but now they got the bright idea to make even less options in a game where characters only have one outfit by default. Nice work, Bandai.

Anyway, this is the best I've been able to come up with for alternate Seong Mina costumes.

My take on CaS/SCVI

I've been pretty impressed with what I've seen other people make online. generally the quality is better than i expected it to be.

I've only been playing a tiny bit in non-ranked so far though while i explore who to main in SP, and dread the thought of playing CaS in ranked.

The CaS is a doubled edged sword though (pun very much intended) - while it's great having a visual sense of playing a limitless world of characters, it's also left me quite disconnected from the real characters of SC, which i've always considered a pretty cool roster. It's got this slightly weird MMO atmosphere rather than the set of puppets controlled by many hands thing most fighters have. Overall it's nice to have something different in the market, but I also feel the CaS might have limited the graphics generally which are pretty underwhelming. Still a richer game for it though... just.

TBH i'm not enjoying the mechanics very much, but its still early days for me. I feel like i'm winning as many matches panicking and doing something sloppy/random than nailing my input/choices. I think i'm glad to have got this to tide me over, but DOA6 can't come fast enough as far as i'm concerned. I like knowing why I got my arse handed to me, or at least knowing I could know :D . its a fine game, its just all a bit unbalanced it seems.
