"The new stage ZERO is a research facility built by M.I.S.T. highlighted by shattered glass and freefalls. Position yourself accordingly to make the best of this environment fighters."

Why did they mention freefalls if this is a completely walled-in stage? Will we be able to fight on the top platform or something? I'm probably reading way too deep into this but I just want to knock people down stairs again! Maybe there's an option of whether you start inside or outside the forcefield?

(this counts as something i'd like to see, right?)

what if you start on the second floor and you don't fall into the force field but rather you have to fight AROUND it omfg i would be so goddamn happy especially if you crash into the side rooms with glass falling everywhere AHHHHHH

or the PR guy is a piece of shit and just wanted to say that happens when it probably doesnt

Probably a glass wall that leads to a freefall into another area when broken.

Freefalls included or not, lab stages will always be boring af for me. Especially when all that’s changed is the background outside of the actual “ring”. Call me when they reveal a beautiful stage located in a jungle (with a small river included) a la Tekken 4 or another indoors stage that’s original and it’s not located in a lab or some other scifi bullshit.

Seeing how the screenshot is taken from an elevated walkway with stairs, its obvious the stage is more than just the closed circle like it was in 5. I will be interested in seeing if the stairs means return of stairs/slope throws like in 4 or 2 Ultimate but we will have to see.

Still, its rather uncreative of them to take a closed stage from 5 and just expanded it a bit and called it a new stage. It's not like people wouldn't notice its a remake.

I probably overlooked this but was it mentioned how the Kokoro, Lisa and NiCO trailer briefly showed the boxing gym stage from 5?

Maybe there's a stage at the bottom with Kasumi clones naked inside capsules like that DOA3 stage* or the lab stage from DOA5

So? It’s still better than getting the same retouched Lab stage over and over lol. At least jungle themed stages can look beautiful, Lab stages all look so monotonous and boring.

Besides, there’s some differences:

DoA5

As you can see, in Tekken 4 the stage took place in the actual deeps of a jungle. In DoA5 it’s all outdoors and doesn’t look like they’re at the deeps of the jungle at all. Too much of the sky is visible.
And the river wasn’t that deep either, I’d really love if it was deeper (like, reaching AT LEAST the fighter’s ankles, thing that DoA does pretty bad because even in the beach stages at 5 the water barely covers the character’s feet at all).
