Hayate isn't stronger than her imo. Neither is Momiji. Helena, maybe, but not those 2. I have her just right outside of the Top 5 at 7. I just disagree with those 2. Momiji I have at like 8 or 9 with Hayate being somewhere just outside of 10
TBH, I feel like a lot of people are overlooking Mila. Mila has to be top 5 or right outside of it. I've posted before but I forgot who I put (brainfart)

Mila can keep pressure almost indefinitely, with speed faster than some striking characters (hitomi).

If they really wanted to nerf her they'd slow down her 6p or her jab. The other changes havent done a thing; she can do everything she could in vanilla in a different way.

When I think of Mila I think #7. Can't tell you who I think is #6, just she seems like "Almost there for top 5 but not quite tehre after all her nerfs." Now vanilla Mila? Yeah definitely Top 2.

Or leave her at disadvantage after her chain throws are broken (which she can initiate off of nearly anything guaranteed).

Yes. 3H+K crushed high as well as jumped over lows around the 14th frame.

There's that, too. She doesn't need it though.

I forget because I didn't use them much. It was easy to lose momentum if they chose to take the damage.

Vanilla Mila was just Lol. Let's not think about that...

But yeah, in 5U/5LR Mila is indeed quite strong and is definitely Top 10 material and is one of the potential characters I think could be around the #5-8 overall. Zack's another character that I think is also quite strong in DOA5 and can get overlooked too.

The funiest thing about this thread is : if we sum up everybody's comments, 32 characters are in the top 10. Maths and DOA can't go along well.
Every character has a hidden card in his sleeve to climb up the ladder.

So to reverse the flow, who is the last character?
I start the vote on kokoro: she's not so safe, she can't deal with sidestep gods, she's too easier to master with poor damage. Real fighters play with zillion inputs like 16545678923 PK that's not the case for kokoro who can poorly mix up K and P with one or two directions at most.

I sincerely doubt Kokoro is at the bottom..... not with that ridiculous throw Mix Up.... its perfect to use on a Blocking or Sidestepping opponent. Although you need to be Psychic for the latter.

I think her less than stellar tracking options only makes her vulnerable to special counter Matchups: Christie and Marie "Totally 18" Rose...... and maybe even Bayman, let me not forget him.

I don't think this sort of discussion is helpful. This isn't a factual view of the character's strengths and weaknesses. There are always ways of for example beating things like Jak or BKO with the whole cast. Kokoro has PK for example to try and beat Jak. Some have an easier time while others don't.

This 'woe is me' type of discussion can be very fruitless, because there are always better characters which can fit the bottom of the list (ie: Bass, Brad, Eliot, nyo tengu) mainly because they have more significant weaknesses to qualify them as the "last" character.

My post was quite ironic. I know she's quite safe.

But that safeness was (and still is) my weakness, because when people talk about the strength of kokoro, safe is often quoted. Because of that i played all my moves without thinking about what's safe or not. for me kokoro is known to be safe so "throw all that strings". Even worse, people i usually meet assumes that kokoro is so safe that they never try to throw punish my moves.
As a result my strength become my weakness when i meet a real fighter who really knows kokoro.

On the opposite, when people play against Ph4 or ayane they are waiting for unsafe moves to come, but ph4 or ayane players know that and never play unsafe move. so their weakness become their strength.

Indeed I agree with uncle kitchener. Lets stop the last character discussion here.

Thats actually a good point.... I play Grapplers but I resort to my Offensive Holds as a last resort..... with Mila I can go either way thanks to her Cancels..... I'm struggling with Lisa though.
