Characters Thoughts on the ninjas?

^when Ryu is using his legendary dragon sword or any other weapon(staff, bow, nunchaku, demon swords, two handed swords, scythes, dual katana, and his variety of ninpo techniques) he is the most badass ninja. Else his kicks are pretty weak aside from setting up his execution moves. I have never seen him use hand to hand combat vs a fiend either so that could explain a lot of it. Same thing could be said with the other ninjas but I just suppose they are better than him in hand to hand combat or that the designers can't directly import that version of ryu cause he would be killing everyone.
Ryu can rip someone's head clean off with his bare hands in Ninja Gaiden. He doesn't need a sword to be the most badass ninja by a landslide. That's just bonus points.

I guess it's been a while since I've played Ninja Gaiden, I don't remember a particular scene like that, granted I only finished Sigma and some of 2

Same move as his 8T in DOA. It just decapitates people in Ninja Gaiden because Ryu isn't gimping himself to play nice in those games (okay, so he actually is, but not nearly as much as in DOA). It's done by pressing X & A, and is appropriately named the guillotine throw.

A little off topic...

Outside of DOA I'm sure all the ninjas are strong. Hayate would have to be as clan leader, Kasumi was runner up until the whole DOA1 scenario- though she's only runner up due to being younger, so she's another one who clearly has power. None of these characters have games however, so sitting around going "Ryu is the bestest" is completely un-answerable. He's obviously a REALLY strong ninja... but considering his connection with the mugen tenshin clan and Hayate being his supposed best friend means the other ninjas are obviously just as good, or who knows- even better. It's hard to say with no visible proof or them going "Ryu is the strongest ninja EVERRR" but nobody has really ever stated that... apart from the humans & people within his clan.

Edit; side note, Kasumi survived as a runaway ninja for how long now? girls obviously extremely strong... otherwise she wouldn't blurt out "You can't defeat me" all the time.

Hahaha, very off topic... but yeah >_>;;

OBJECTION! Ryu beat Hayate's ass at least 3 times. Story wise. (I remember in DOA3, I think, Hayate and Ryu on are on a roof, Ryu wins. DOA5 Hayate acted on emotion, didn't do him any good.)
Ryu is the best ninja ever. Hayate and them can TRY to beat him, they won't be successful.

I imagine her life to be a lot like Aladdin, without the finding a magical genie part and the monkey... and anything to do with Aladdin.

DOA3:
Ryu v Hayate = Hayate "wins" only to realize he only beat a log and that Ryu was hardcore trolling him

Another thing is that in NG he throws people so hard their limbs explode on contact with walls, imagine that in doa lol.

Hate hate hate hate hate Ninjas.

Putting aside their Ken Syndrome where they seem to be the only characters people pick (I'm sorry what? with CF maybe as the ninja are the only characters permanently available but this is definitely not the case on Xbox), they just have waaaayy too much advantage. Not really.

Their sheer speed means they will always beat out most of the cast at everything. Ayane/Kasumi maybe.
They seem to recover from stun faster than the hit that put them in stun. There's a thing called Stagger Escape players are probably just using that, everyone has it.
All of their moves put them into a dodge stance meaning its really hard to counter hit them. This is definitely wrong
Extremely superior mobility to almost the entire cast. Nope, there are much trickier characters Christie/Lisa to name a couple.
Totally bullshit unreadable spammable tracking unblockable teleports (Ryu) Busa's teleports do not track, at all. 8T, 8P,8K, 6P+K and P+K in ongyoin are completely side steppable and even holdable(all midP/K holds minus 8T as its a throw) and none of them track.
Virtually every jab leads to a 5 or more second long juggle. The only character with a big juggle is Kasumi Ryu, Hayate and Ayane have short juggles unless you're facing a good player.
They can just throw out a billion jabs through lag. Actually the ninjas are the worst in lag, especially Hayabusa and Hayate, as their most prominant throws are effected with JF inputs (Hayabusa's Shoho-Izuna and Hayate's Raijin)

They are just waaaayyy too fast, with too high mobility, and most things word on them due to their stances. Combine this with being sick of fighting just them all time, and again, I really hate Ninjas. Hayabusa and Hayate are the slowest of the Ninjas if you think they're fast in this game there's something wrong with how you're playing.

Okay, so if Ryus ports don't track, then please explain why the grab has him move horizontally in midair like fucking tetris when I try to just run under it or back up. Or why it changes direction in midair when I try to ss. Same with his chopdrop. Dive kick also tracks me when I ss.

Horizontally what? you either have some serious online lag or a really glitched up game.

The "chopdrop" and the kick definitely do not track as people SS and punish me all the time online when I do those moves, you should try to test your connection or something because that definitely doesn't happen to anyone else.

Don't believe me? try it for yourself in training with move details on.

Just to clarify you are sidestepping and not free stepping, right?
You can also just walk backwards from chop + grab. Not sure if you can dash away from the kick...

Tried both ss and fs.

As for backing up, assuming I'm not up against a wall, the opponent could just do the dive kick or teleport behind me, plus it all tracks me all the time.

It's why I hate Ryu port spammers. Theres no way to read what move is coming from that stance, so there'd no reliable counter to it, and I hate being reduced to guessing, especially since all are nigh unavoidable anyway.

I wish they'd get rid of that dumb stance and give him his handstand back instead.

I think this like the problem witg kokoro. Everyone says her moves dont track, but in gameplay, they do. Always.

Personally I've not had an issue, it could be down to timing so might be worth setting up the input in training and trying to get it down.

Who do you main? I've found for Momiji I can just :7::K: all his options with the right timing. If you have something like that I'd suggest looking into that, it'll soon stop people trying it on you.

Mila and Leon. I can slam Ryu out with overheads sometimes.
