The latest status of @Kasumilover98 asked about everyone's favorite move in DOA and since I thought it is pretty interesting to talk about, I decided to make this topic. This thread is about your personal top 5 strikes, throws and holds. It doesn't necessarily have to be anything related to the actual usefulness of the move. You can make a top 5 based on awesomeness of the animation as well. I'll start off. :)

Yes, but it's only disadvantage is no wall hits which makes it lose to hi-counter TFBB on danger zone walls.


Wouldn't it be nice if there were some follow ups off of Floor Danger Zones ?

I believe Tekken Tag Tournament has those.

Dang, how'd i miss this thread? Better late than never i guess, here we go.

:ein:'s Fudo-Fujin (:4::P+K:): Paul Phoenix and Ryo Sakazaki got nothing on Ein. ;)
4.:jacky:'s Jumping Savate (:8::H+K:): This move is amazing, i wish more people would use it, 56 frames of animation make this move the most realistic representation of an expert sobat in any fighting game i've seen to date.
3.:rig:'s 540 Turning Thrust (TLC:6::H+K:): Another beautifully animated attack, 59 frames of animation for a pretty advanced version of a Dwi Huryeo Chagi (Spinning Hook Kick) in Taekwondo.
2.::akira:'s Tetsuzankou (:4::6::6::P+K:): The accuracy to real life with wich Akira performs this move still amazes me to this day, 61 frames of animation make this one of the most realistic depictions of a martial art in a videogame.
1.:jannlee:'s Dragon Kick (:236::K:): This move made me fall in love with Jann Lee and DOA, no joke, this is still to this day the most accurate representation of my life long idol's most iconic move, 85 frames of animation on whiff and an estimate of 124 frames on hit, this is THE most elaborate move in DOA and any fighting game to date, love it or hate it, its a true testament to the immortal legacy of Bruce Lee.

:leon:'s Desert Thunder (:2::H+P:): This throw just looks brutal, and even though silly, when performed against a character like Bass, it shows you why Leon is the strongest man in the world. ;)
4.:jacky:'s Trapping - One-Inch Blow (:4::H+P:): This throw is so awesome looking, i specially love how it uses fundamentals in Jeet Kune Do and of course delivering the YEEAAAHHHH.
3.:jannlee:'s The Fall of the Dragon (wall :214::H+P:): Powerful and sick looking, playing with this throw is always a joy, one of the most brutal looking moves in the game in my opinion.
2.:sarah:'s Gatling Roundup Somersault Beat (stepping :426::H+P:): A barrage of kicks to multiple parts of the body that ends in a Flash Kick to the face, it doesn't get any better than that, in the ground at least. ;)
1.:hayabusa:'s Izuna Otoshi (:426::H+P::268::H+P::f360::H+P:): Had to be you know? Even though a ninja staple nowadays, Ryu is the real OG when it comes to the Izuna, timeless move of badassery.
Holds:

:bayman:'s Arm Lock Swing (:6::1::h:): You never get to see this hold even though it looks so awesome, Bayman just clotheslines the opponent away like a boss, maybe he has a background in wrestling? I don' want to imagine what this move would look like against a wall.
4.:leon:'s Mount Tackle (:3::3::H+P:): The tackle's alright, what matters is what comes after it, just Leon being Leon.
3.:jannlee:'s Dragon Twist (:1::h: against kicks): Another brutal looking move, the Dragon doesn't hold back, even if that means stepping on your face, repeatedly.
2.:jacky:'s Pak Sao (neutral high punch parry): This move shows the most advanced technique in Jeet Kune Do, trapping, seeing Jacky perform this move so easily shows what a master of his art he actually is, you wouldn't know what is happening on screen the first couple times you see this move, it takes deep knowledge in martial arts to recognize how intricate the animation is.
1.:ein:'s Kobo (:1::h: against kicks) I love this freaking hold, this honestly looks more painful than his PB lol, that's one of the things i adore about Ein, either seeing your opponent's or your health depleted in one single strike, that's the essence of a true Karateka, and this move just shows all of that, one strike and you're magically all the way across the stage, love you Ein.

I think the notition is a Half Circle.... :426::H+P:.

Or does the game let you use a "Shortcut" ? Because Sarah has quite a few of those. For example her BT Moonsault is BT :9::P+K:..... which, incidentally, makes her turn around before she can pull it off.... however the game also Responds to BT :8::P+K: which has a much better success rate.

Also I like the perspective you have to all your favourite moves. :)

LoL..... thank god for that Edit Button. Can you imagine what life was like before the Computer.

When you made a spelling mistake you were stuck with it. LoL I bet you thats why Knife is spelled with a K..... because nobody wanted to admit they screwed up. :)
