Weirdest Online Moments

Not so odd as annoying. Played a Ranked Tag match against someone as Bass/Leon. They turned out to be Momiji and Alpha. First reaction is "FUCK ME" and second is slight happiness that Momiji is out first. A mess up on Tag Burst turns into a Force Out and I unintentionally face the wrath of an Online Alpha.
It turned out better than I would have ever hoped. Around fifteen seconds later (a CB with a pretty awesome tag juggle and fully executed Hi-Counter Dervish Throw later) I draw a huge sigh of relief as Momiji hops in. Then Round 2 occurs and the guy switches to Alpha out of the box. This time it takes closer to twenty seconds but I still whoop some jello ass. The guy basically gives up and starts talking about how I throw too much and I only know how to throw.
Go back to queue and get him again. This time he picks Alpha/Helena and similar things happen except I do a lot of Bass setups and win with Bass alone. All the while he is complaining about how I throw too much and how I should play like a real man (real men always pick Leon/Bass, there is nothing manlier unless Bayman is involved).
One more queue later and I get him for a third time. Alpha/Christie. This time he complains non stop about how I keep throwing him (I will throw punish, nothing will stop me from trying except safe moves). We end the match and he says "I bet you can't win without throwing" and I decide next match I will play Mila/Hayate since I'm not throw dependent when I play them and know how to do half health+ combos with Mila.
Never saw the guy again.

The fact I got him three times in a row was odd enough. It was even sweeter because of how he let me dictate the speed of the match don't let Leon or Bass do that, you are in for a bad time if you do).

If you're using those BS (Momiji makes me bitter and Alpha is Alpha) speed characters and lose against Bass/Leon, you don't have the right to tell someone else they're playing poorly or 'not like a man.'

I hate when people complain you throw too much. JUST HIT ME. STRIKES BEAT THROWS. I also hate when people complain about me using Leifang's OH's. Just THROW. It'll get you good counter damage and screw me over.

reminds me of when call of duty players try to play any real shooter.

"Stop camping!"

Stop running into my STATIONARY MOUNTED WEAPON over and over.

"no you need to stop camping!"

Okay, wait. You know I'm there every time, right?

"yeah, you need to stop camping!"

"SHOOT ME! Throw a grenade in before hand or something! USE YOUR FUCKIN HEAD!

ehm...this is the last response i'll make on the subject, because as I said, I didn't intend to derail the topic.

1) Yes I play Mila and I don't juggle. At least not intentionally (If they happen to pop in the air i'll hit em a couple times, but i'm not actively trying to launch). This mostly because I find her ground game and knockbacks a lot more satisfying to do.
2) I don't like doing juggles because a) the damage is too easy. I feel like a noob just getting guaranteed damage like that. It feels like leaving the training wheels on the bike for me. I prefer riskier damage, for the satisfaction of pulling it off. That and b) its incredibly boring to watch someone just float through the air for 3-5 seconds over and over. But mostly c) my personal opinion is that it lowers the overall quality of the FGC, because it puts too much focus on juggling, launchers, and guaranteed damage, not enough on learning to adapt, learn, overcome, etc. What I mean is, well, look at newcomers, they mostly just try to look up juggles and guaranteed setups for their characters and then spam that. "What's this person going to do? Are they going to do this maneuver, or this maneuver, how are they going to deal with that? Oh...oh they just trying to juggle for their damage, nevermind"
3) I'm not really concerned with "big numbers". I mean, i've come back from an enemy with full health and me with no visible bar often enough that as far as I'm concerned, so long as the round isn't officially over, there's nothing to worry about. (This is a little hyprocritical because I enjoy power characters, but I'm talking number of hits, not per hit). I mean, there's no real need to do juggles for the damage when I can just do the damage normally by being a good player and outmaneuvering the opponent instead of needing them held in the air for me.
Good luck winning tournaments with that mindset.

The truth is, to be a consistent winner you need to master everything, both the neutral and AND damage. All you're doing is leaving a glaring hole in your gameplan and making it so that your opponent has less risk while you on the other hand are open to more risk. Winning consistently isn't just about "skill", it's about playing smart, learning to minimize risk and being safe. Going for riskier damage every time just drains you mentally, especially when you have to play multiple matches in a row through a loaded bracket in a tournament. That just leads to you being mentally guard broken easier in later sets/matches.

It's obvious he has no intent of ever doing that.

The multiple mentions of playing for fun, not liking the tournament scene/community for the general attitude, etc, should have made that clear.

If I was in a tournament, then I would just be there to win, not to have fun, so I would of course, adjust my playstyle, from how I usually play, which is meant for personal enjoyment and satisfaction.

And like Brute pointed out, I have no intention of doing tournaments, because I enjoy the game too much. I don't want the fun sucked out of playing the game because of the tournament attitude of "screw fun, have to win". My experience with the tourney side of the FGC has been....less than impressive, so not a lot of reason to even WANT to go to tournaments.

I do like unofficial, casual tournaments, though. Those are fun.

Ignoring the fact that playing the game at high levels, competing, beating your opponent and winning in a high stakes setting is fun.

that's not "ignoring a fact". That's "a subjective opinion". While that may be fine for you, I personally find no fun in just winning. It's meaningless, other than tourney prizes. For me, it's how I win, that I have fun. I don't care IF i beat my opponent, I care HOW I beat my opponent.

And just from my own experience with people who claim to, "playing the game at high levels" was just tedious, not fun, so...not much appeal there.

That happen to me yesterday.

I didnt disrespect people , insult or didnt anything else what could they make mad etc.
So lets see Nameless Life on PSN and on Xbox in Cry or Mad Ultimate 5 which is standard every time I play.

This is a B rank Player he used Rig , Ryu and Kasumi
I won a match then I lost 1 match then he disrespected me. I used akira but its okay for me is losing a good point to see where my weaknesses and mistakes are. Then he picked Kasumi and I picked Akira again. So after I won 3 matches he wrote two messages but I deleate one which he wrote that I use I a very simple charakter. Akira ? A simple character ? Okay ?

Then he wrote this

Another player has joined to my lobby after 1 match he or she wrote this

Went in a public room His_Reverence was running. Surprisingly, no one made fun of me, which is weird. I'm normally used to people throwing any insult they can think of until I leave the room.

I was playing this lad in DoA5U (Soulman or something close to that with a few added numbers on the end of his handle) At the start he seemed like a decent chap wanting to have a few good spirited battles, which for me is hard to come by on PSN, so i jumped at the offer. "Want to fight" he typed, in which i responded with a resounding caps locked "YES" The Soulman had confidence seeping from every pore as he wrote: "Prepare for some heavy losses. Are you sure you're ready to face me lol?" This fellow clearly meant business, but i was born ready.

Soulman: "Who do you main? I play Alpha & Bass"

Me: "I'm decent with Zack but i am mainly a random select player"

The man with Soul was here to prove a point so we both fire up our DoA5U copies & scurry into a private lobby like hyperactive lab rats. The Soulman selects liquid lass Alpha while i go random select (which abracadabra ends up being jello girl Alpha as well) i win the match & we return to the lobby.

Soulman: Nice cheating, picking the same character as me lol.

"Baffled by this bold claim" i replied

Me: I don't control what random select chooses mate, it's a roll of the dice that is in the CPU's hands, not mine.

Soulman: Whatever man.

Me: *getting a tad annoyed* It's random select Soul, i don't choose, i simply get what i am given by the AI? Like a lucky dip, you know? Picking a name out of a hat full of names?

Soulman: Whatever, you still chose Alpha.

*bites tongue*

Trying to move on from the pointless going-nowhere argument, we have another fight which ended up being our last (probably a good thing haha). I chose baby-face Kokoro, someone i am hopeless with while the soul picked Bass this time, his other main. I won again, not convincingly but a win is a win, before we automatically return to the lobby. A rant was brewing so i braced myself for the incoming torrential storm.

Soulman: You lied, you said you were only good with Zack. I am not playing against a cheat.

Me: Look, how was i too know that i was going to win with........

*Soulman has left the lobby*

Me:...........with ................Kokoro?

I guess the point i am trying to make is sometimes you just cannot win with some people, there always must be justification behind why they lost instead of simply swallowing the bitter pill & admitting that they weren't good enough on the day. Granted i am sure we have all lost cheaply before, be it from unlucky ring outs in SC or from last minute power blows from DoA, a loss is a loss & there are times when you just have to take it on the chin & accept. I have the patience of a Tibetan monk but this lad was really starting to prod the cranky bull in me & i was actually relieved when he left the lobby.

Although you had to with an idiot. I thoroughly enjoyed this. Do you write?

This was amazing. Not the fact you fought a jerk, but the fact that I enjoyed the reading.

So I was in this one public room with @Yurlungur and @Brute (who I later found out was on an alternate account), and later on in the session, @Mailifang showed up from out of nowhere... like holy shit, I haven't seen that woman in almost a year, and suddenly the session got a lot friendlier. It was a weird, beautiful thing. Even among randoms, nobody trashed each other, everyone encouraged each other, it was actually a chill session.

It had to be @Mailifang's doing. She has that effect on people to make randoms stop trashing on competant players. Ever since she went in the lobby and just camped there, everyone was acting funny...

But that's not all... oh no. I found a glitch online as well that applies to Core Fighters and paid characters. If you directly join via invitation outside of the game and enter the match, the characters you purchased that aren't registered as free on that time period get locked out, and you have to reset the game all over again. Inconvenient, that was... and it pissed off Yurlungur too (I think). Either way, I'll be addressing this exceptionally weird Core Fighters glitch to Team Ninja, because nobody should be made out to be a ragequitter because of something like this.

On a normal note, I saved 15 minutes worth of online stress by fapping to Christie gravure vids. And until I get my trenchcoat, this will have to do as a confidence booster.

I have also came across this glitch, luckily the day it happened Ein was free so I was still able to use my main but I could no longer use any DLC costumes and it was jarring to play Hayabusa without the throwback :/ I soon learned my lesson to never accept invites from XMB.
