The "casual gamer" wants enough information to be able to play the game well enough. They don't normally care about further game mechanics. Normally in-game tutorials give you this, but even then they still do not show or teach you everything else. When people really decide that they want to learn more about the game they play, that is when they decide to get on the internet and search for things.
Be it Youtube, some online strategy guide/FAQ (or a strategy guide book), or finding actual forums for legit information. This sort of thing doesn't just apply to DOA, it applies to every other fighter as well. Other games have their beginner (and sometimes more advanced tutorials) that'll explain moves or other aspects of the game in detail. But you are still not handed "everything" on a silver platter.

That's my point entirely. If you're trying to make a game accessible to casuals, teach them core mechanics. I say SEing is a core mechanic. Don't you?

I haven't been into every other character sub-forum, yet. So I can't comment there. But Xdest and myself and a few others have been sharing info in the Ayane forums for awhile now. I understand what you mean though, I wish there were more information around in the Sarah forums.

Pretty much. It's weird to have people harp on participation and then immediately go aggressively after anyone who posts something incorrect (often understandably so) or with a legitimate difference of opinion.

Not every suggestion is going to be perfect; not every tweet exactly helpful. But I'm not sure that going nuclear on all of them actually helps the cause, at the end of the day.

I'm actually going to say I'm opposed to these. The main defenses against these maneuvers is by intercepting them if you anticipate they're coming. While Ryu's Ongyoin 8T doesn't track and can be side-stepped or ducked (not sure if the Kasumi Hopshinpo(?) can be easily side-stepped but I imagine it can), I like to think there's a good chance for punishment involved if you want to risk going that route (particularly for Ryu's). Ryu's tele-grab is already plenty potent enough when mixed with his 9P (especially when as as a wake-up kick punish).

I still think Ryu should have an OH aside from the handstand throw, I just don't think it should be his ong-tele
