It’s quite disrespectful to talk about my main like that, Raidou’s story would’ve been just as relevant if Honoka wasn’t here. Raidou was killed off too quickly in DOA1, they easily could’ve gave him a better story. Raidou is quite well written for someone who was killed off quite quickly.

His story isnt why I hate him, its his moveset. I feel like its not unique enough from Hayates and hes just a clone of him (even tho he came first) With Phase being the exception, I dont like clone characters. Theyre just lazy to me. Wasnt trying to diss you, btw

Raidou isn’t a clone of Hayate though, he doesn’t really have Hayate moves besides 6PP. Raidou have more moves of Gen fu, Jann lee and Bass than of Hayate. Raidou is a copycat character and copies everybody, he could even copy Ryu’s izuna.

Hmm.......Maybe I need to fire up the old PS4 and re-examine him then. I just remember seeing Hayate moves when I tried him out, dropping him and then never looking back. I didnt know he had Ryu's Izuna, I never seen anyone do it.

He doesn’t have it but his ability would allow, him performing his izuna. I hope raidou will get a few gen fu moves so he’ll be a bit stronger.

Storywise, him being an android at this point could make his copy ability more efficient

Nothing really stuck out to me but I did find this bit about Ein interesting, and of course they talked esports and a F2P version and DLC:

K. : Ein has this personality and fighting style and I don’t think Hitomi has everything Ein had.​

Y. S. : Well, when you’ll watch the story, you’ll see why Ein wouldn’t be there anymore and why Hayate’s there. It wouldn’t make sense from a stroyline perspective to have them both.​

K. : Maybe as DLC, then ?​

The interview didn't really touch on anything I was hoping for since he's still very secretive about who would be added in but there should be gameplay dropping from her soon since she said she had some to share​

I think Gen fu might be replaced forever by Eliot. Shimbori really made it sound like Gen fu won’t return to the dead or alive series in terms of base roster, same with Ein and Leon.

Kayane did an excellent job. She got him to talk about the controversy (which we all know shouldnt have been), she asked story questions and hinted at the fate of certain characters not in the game and had him explain why, and I loved the fact Shimbori knows where DOA is next to its competition and is not going to back down or copy them in terms of marketing or esports. Instead accepting the challenge and looking to forge a unique path of success on Team Ninja's terms. I loved this interview.

I did too, I hope he wasn't implying he's backing out of the DLC season pass practices tho since I liked that set up. It was nice and exciting having a DLC thread for LR and every month we would speculate and love/talk smack about costumes we hated or liked, I even miss complaining about when certain characters were excluded xD

He kept saying maybe tho so I'm hoping that means that we'll probably see at least one new character

That basically leaves room for Momiji and Rachel and likely a new character for this season DLC if they have a season pass xD

I'm calling it again. Momiji, Rachel and Alpha-152 will be the last three spots. When Team Ninja has released DOA5 in the past, they never made extra spots for DLC characters. They would re-arrange the character selection after the DLC character was released. And it sounds like they are focusing on finishing DOA6 before working on DLC characters which they'll probably do. So if Leon, Genfu, and Ein are not coming back at launch, then that leaves Rachel, Momiji, and Alpha.

Yeah no thank you xD Momiji and Rachel are good but I don't think Alpha will return, idk who would spend money on her besides her mains since Japan doesn't like her, TN is probably gonna use popularity/popular traits to decide who's DLC

I'm rather curious, 3 secret characters, none being leon genfu or ein... Of course, is just speculation that this is indeed the case.

I honestly think that makes the most sense, sorry to those fans of theirs.

Leon and Gen Fu's story seriously ended at DOA3 and Ein's ended at DOA2.
While it would make sense for them to still be playable in some capacity, after they basically axed Bankotsubo for Nyotengu, it was a matter of time before those 3 was going to be axed for good since they are too similar to other characters(Bayman for Leon, Ein for Hitomi) or legit supposed to pass on their skills to someone else(Gen Fu to Eliot).

So it sucks... but I'd rather have these situations than end up with a Tekken situation in which no one is axed despite being too similar and feeling like you are just making clones of clones of clones with slightly varied movesets(don't bring back Alpha-152)
