Ah, okay. Yeah, I don't know what all of the differences may have been in combat and/or the party members between P4 and P4G, but in P4G, physical damage was way better than magical damage. As a result, Kanji and Chie were the top dogs since they specialized in physical damage and had a ton of health.
Yukiko and Teddie had no real relevance whatsoever. Teddie simply had nothing and Yukiko's main use was basically just healing, which wasn't really needed since Kanji and Chie can just destroy everything pretty quickly and if you really need to heal, you can just use items or keep your own healing Persona on hand. Likewise, you can also keep a Persona with Agi damage on hand to cover Yukiko's absence in that regard as well.
As for Yosuke, I think his main goal was buffing and debuffing. While Kanji and Chie are doing work, you could have Yosuke constantly throw out buffs for them and debuffs for the enemy, which was extremely useful in boss fights. I believe I also had Yu do this a lot as well, while also dealing some additional damage when needed.
In my first playthrough, before I knew any of this, I used the exact opposite team lol. Teddie, Yukiko and Naoto. When I eventually played through it again for the platinum trophy, I read up on the best combat teams and ideas and found out that that was an awful team. So I switched to the recommended ideas and everything went by way more smoothly.
Naoto was fun against weenies because she could just one-shot entire mobs with one move. I don't recall which skill it was, but basically, the typical encounter would follow as such:
Begin battle > have Naoto use that skill > entire mob is dead in one hit > battle over/gain EXP
You could just keep doing that over and over throughout the dungeon until the boss fight.
