Top 8 Bracket | Top 8 Complete Stream
1st Hoodless | 2nd Kwiggle | 3rd Hollow | 4th XcaliburBladeZ

The Bifuteki Top 8 Stream at TFC has been nothing short of spectacular with the players trading their tournament nerves from pools for intensity and focus. Like all of the Battle Royal fights from Team NINJA, this event DOES NOT disappoint. If you missed pools, be sure to give those a viewing as well to see some surprising and satisfying outcomes to your favorite matchups.

To start these fights off we have a 5-star match with Hoodless and NEC Champion Rikuto. These are some very close fights, and we see all of the moves you would expect out of a great Bayman v. Zack matchup...

Battle Royal TFC Pool Results, Top 8 and Highlights

Even if the audio is off in the beginning, and TFC is no longer our biggest draw -- we still have an intimate weekend of DOA with some of the best in a competitive field. Kick Punch Block has been streaming our community events for a number of years and we are grateful for the time. Big E Gaming's TFC 2017 Top 8 will conclude tomorrow at 1pm via Bifuteki, but for now, let's look at the matches in pools.

Kwiggle is no slouch, but he's always having fun and this remains true with the opener for the stream against Savage. You can tell Savage knows a lot about the game, but given Kwiggle's experience with Marie Rose... he seems to know what to expect for the entirety of the match. What will it take to put Kwiggle into a serious competitive mode? I'm not sure, but I dig his style!

In the next game, SYN Gruff...

News Core Fighters has been Downloaded 10M Times

Even if Core Fighters is a F2P title, 10 million downloads can be something to boast about. This milestone goes beyond any other number the series has hoped to achieve, and I think this is largely contributed to the intense and thought-provoking gameplay. Even if we all want DOA6 at this point, it's important not to undermine the achievement that DOA5 itself has been.

Since the beginning, the most important aspect has been the community keeping the game alive as displayed in Team NINJA's recent Top 8 Summer Jam XI uploads. You simply don't have matches like these from a game with a 1-year lifespan. With that being said, how long of a lifespan do you think a DOA installment should last before the next era of fighting emerges?

With DOA5's lasting...

DOA5LR New Players Need to Learn the Triangle System

  • 1,988

The FSD community has been playing Dead or Alive 5 for five years, but since then a lot has changed and we have more fighters showing up to tournaments that are new players as made evident by the 2017 Battle Royal. Team NINJA boasts well over 9 million Core Fighters Downloads and this skew has provided people a chance to play the fighter they always wondered about. Because of this, @MASTER provides great information on the Triangle System -- the bread and butter of DOA combat in Team NINJA's latest tutorial video.

It's not weird that this is coming out now because it seems to provide hints to a new game and if DOA6 were to be that new game it's not like they would take out every mechanic that was in DOA5 and make a cel-shaded 2D fighter. If you are new to the community it would seem that playing DOA5...

News Dead or Alive 5 will be at TGS

Dead or Alive 5 has been around since 2012, but the dedicated competitive scene, collaborative efforts, and DLC have kept it relevant to garner screen time from Team NINJA at this year's Tokyo game show. Because of this, it makes sense that some dedicated players wait for DOA6 while others continue to contribute to the Last Round iteration. Either way, you can't help but be excited for what could be in store for the community, and the intrigue that this scheduling has caused.

Last year there was plenty of hype pertaining to DLC character Mai Shiranui, a King of Fighters character that brought in interest more comparable to Marie Rose than other DLC characters such as Nyo or Phase 4. Even Raidou and Honoka as the new premium characters for Last Round were said to not deliver where it counts most, and crossover character Naotora followed that pattern bringing in very little interest to the...

Team NINJA has tried video series before, but now with Master's advanced knowledge of the games, we could expect a lot more out of the productions. You can subscribe to Team NINJA's Youtube page and feel free to share news stories like this to your social media that will help with raising exposure for Dead or Alive and the offline scene.

We're going to mix things up with a series of videos for new and dedicated fans of #DOA5LR. These videos will share gameplay details of the game and will also highlight features that may have been overlooked. Here is the first "Did You Know" video - Tag Match. #ImAFighter What crazy Tag Match combo can you come up with and which tag throw is...

This is the new thread for DOAX related discussion.

I deemed the old thread to have degenerated into nothing but ugly mods and fap material, and I'm not going through 500+ pages to cherry pick what should and shouldn't be there. Try to remember where you are, and what kind of people visit this site. The focus of FSD is for competitive DOA not for the spin-off DOAX series and it's more adult-focused content. This thread is for discussing the game. Posting pictures and gameplay within sensible reason is fine.

However, this thread is not for creating your own personal red light district. There are plenty of other places on the internet to find adult content. Please abide by those guidelines or I'll just have to wipe everything again.

DOA5LR Core Fighters Exceeds 9M, Team NINJA Adds Summer DLC

  • 1,356

Team NINJA is probably doing the best they have ever done with not only enticing new players but also continuing a trend of releasing regular DOA content. If you look through Team NINJA's history of incredible games you will notice right away none of them have come close to the nine million mark. Even though it is free to play Core Fighters, exposure and getting people to play your game is the most important thing in 2017.

The developer has also supported the identity of the players well with the Battle Royal tournament for the hardcore players, and continuous DLC for people that want to be stylish and wear what they want with their mains. It's hard to believe we are on the 7th season pass.

For those that want DOA threads of their own check out the FSD Shop for great designs you can't get anywhere else. Not even as DLC...

Are you ready fighters? The 5th chapter of our Summer Jam saga begins tomorrow at 1 pm EST. The competitors will be slugging it out on stream via FunkyP for a Team NINJA sponsorship to NEC and a nice $1,000 pot bonus. Summer Jam XI is this weekend, but we do have some breaking news in the community.

For more than ten years, @MASTER has been active in the DOA community since the beginning, whether he is doing commentary or competing in tournaments.

It was recently announced today that MASTER is the new Community Manager at Team NINJA. Here's what he had to say about his new role:

“Today I'm Honored to announce that I am the new community manager for Team NINJA. This opportunity was only possible because of the team's dedicated fans and the people that have continued to support me during my gaming career. I want to thank Team NINJA for bringing me into their family but most importantly I want to remind the community that this is a huge opportunity for us. I reach out to my ninjas for support once more...

Battle Royal It's Almost Time for Summer Jam XI

Summer Jam has always provided this community spectacular talent with a lasting highlight reel of crazy moments. The window is closing on time to pre-register for this Battle Royal tournament with a $1,000 pot bonus and a sponsored trip to NECXVIII for 1st place paid for by Team NINJA. Now is the time to put all of you skills to the test. It's time to break bones and smash bodies.

From Lopedo's pre-release victory to XcaliburBladeZ dethroning Kwiggle's Christie with Eliot -- anything can happen at Summer Jam, but it can also be a huge game changer for future tournaments in the season. Let it be known in the comments if you are attending! For everyone...

DOA5LR Gehaktbal is Screwed by ESL Player

  • 2,227
  • 8
ESL put on two DOA events this week, one in Japan and one in Europe. The Japanese event went fine and there was no controversy there; but the European event went down a different path that involved one of the most popular competitive players getting screwed by a random.

The player lied to ESL using an alternative "GehaktbaI" name

There was little to no moderation in this event so the player was quite the crafty exploit. @Gehaktbal also provides proof of his lagless victory in another video. This is something all players should be prepared to do if they plan on participating in any online event as they become a more popular option for those that can not travel.

DOA5LR ESL Japan Cup Concludes with Replays

Since DOA5 launched, most of us have not been all that privy to online tournaments. We've all tried a few out and it's pretty tough to compare that experience to an offline because you can't. Though as our game continues to grow there should be more outlets for our power and ESL looks to become one of those options despite the recent controversy with the European Cup.

Like in DOA World Online Tournaments, there is a moderator present to watch the matches, and the first thing you may notice is that both players have maximum connection speed for this event. Anyone that is familiar with this style of tournament will tell you evidence is very important; especially video.

You're going to see good play despite being online. Good evasion, tactics and mix-ups complete the Japan cup and here are some of the replays for their events...

DOA5LR Master is Victorious at DID13

  • 1,494

Dead or Alive in Dallas has been an ongoing event for years now as detailed in the DID13 trailer and while the event was streamed on the 10th of this month it is important that the community documents every event possible to not only display the talent but to also to keep the tournament flow going as we continue to cement our legacy in the FGC.

This year at DID13 the numbers were not as high, but there are still plenty of high quality and close matches throughout. We see appearances from: BlackMoonRisingX, Dareaper214, xHuntress and more devoted players from the community. Though it was a hard-fought battle with plenty of Last Rounds, Master won this event with Hayabusa against Black Moon's Leifang.

You can view this entire tournament via Master's stream replays on Twitch. Hopefully he exports the event to his...

Battle Royal JC Akira Wins Sai EVO Japan Tournament

  • 1,654

While it may not come off as a surprise, it's important to mention that the beast, JC Akira will be making his way back to the States for NEC XVIII after earning the opportunity at the pre-tournament EVO Japan. This is the second tournament in Team NINJA's 2017 Battle Royal and was also an International affair. Top 4 might be all that is available now, but more recordings of the event are expected to be released on FSD's YouTube.

The Japanese players continue to impress everyone with their defensive strategies that now bolster higher speed and better reaction times made evident by JC Akira and Kobun (Hayate) in the first match of Top 4.

Run that Back plays as Mai and stays true to the name with impressive speed and well-utilized range against Tanni's Zack who was able to adapt for the next game with incredible zoning and defensive strategies. Run that Back moved on to fight Kobun...

DOA5LR Version 1.10 Released

Team NINJA is coming out with a lot of new, successful content and while Nioh might be a huge priority at the moment it's nice to see patch updates are still coming out for DOA5 almost five years after it was released. This patch doesn't add a lot, but it does change a few things up and the community is talking about it.

@DestructionBomb: Minor balance changes. Zack's 33P/7K launch after blown back was removed and even more character adjustments. Raidou and Naotora small improvements, Hayabusa's WR4K unfinished or interrupting the P will now leave Hayabusa in a...

From the little I've heard and saw about Crossworlds it might be All-Stars Racing type of fun, if it'll be just as good in terms of gameplay then I'll be very tempted to get it asap.
