I was speechless when I read this article, so I realized a collage of the majority of old outfits and concepts for the male characters, sending three tweets to TN for requesting to give importance to the male roster brining back at least a part of these old outfits or making new ones.

I don't want "more sexy costumes for the guys." I want regular fucking costumes. OF COURSE THE BIKINIS SELL MORE. For every one person like me who can play the damn game and enjoy it without having a raging hard-on the entire time there are 50,000 casuals who play the game for precisely that reason. "I need to buy the ones already released first..." Man, fuck that. I've bought every single fucked-up overpriced costume bundle they've spewed out except the re-skinned bunnies pack and the stupid schoolgirls pack (because by then I've had enough). I've done my part.

Just because naked bitches sell more doesn't mean it should be the only thing they are selling. By that logic they should scrap all male characters and make the only female outfits bikinis. I'm not asking the impossible. I'm not even asking for something difficult. I just want some decent costumes for certain male characters who have a shitty or lackluster selection. That's it. If Tn weren't so damn pretentious about it it would be very easy for them to do that and still make their dumbass bikini wardrobes for a quick buck at the same time.

Fuck the system.

Brute, look at it this way. TN's business model is like the Sega Master System. The challenge will always be there, but the system will not. As long as the business model is capable of dying, there is still hope. Never lose hope.

I want to specify that I made my requests because I read that the article is dated today, so the mentioned interview to Hayashi has to be of these days. I think that was necessary to give a (little) contribute for reiterating once again the message that the players like to play with the male characters (message that it's arrived to Hayashi, otherwise he couldn't say that oversea the fans are requesting for male outfits, sadly he has united the info with the concrete data of the sells of the DLCs).

Without this article I wouldn't send anything, just because the recent attitude of Team Ninja seemed to me the opposite: they gave a varied school theme DLC (some people can dislike it anyway, but it was objectively a big step forward compared to some previous packs for DoA5), now they are bringing back classical and original outfits, for female and males + a new stage. To this we have to add a new character that, if confirmed to be Tengu, would be a great gift for the fans that requested it (considered that it's not neither a girl, neither a popular character).

Judging from their actions, TN seems to be on the right path and I agree with you; it was this interview of Hayashi that gave me the feat that this change of attitude could be just temporary...

Who said the opposite? All the male characters in DoA5 were sexualized, an user talk about it even in the comments of the article previously linked.

The fact is that there are old not sexualized outfits that the fans would like to have in the game, but this is overall a problem for the female cast.

By the way, in Soul Calibur 5 I would even say, that both the girls and guys very equally sexualised. Girls were a little more toned down (because SC4 surpassed even DOA with boobs and asses) and nearly every guy had his chest and abs bared. The Soul Calibur guys do look more handsome than the DOA guys as well.

3 costumes on release for Ein and Leon. No classic costume or any face costume for Hayabusa (gone out of their way not to show his face despite it often looking silly and having it modeled in the training suit complete with facial animations and lip-sync). Only one good costume for Rig aside from his default. A new character who may or may not be another VF.
If this is them trying, they need to try harder.

It was gimpy-looking with the first two iterations, but the NG3 version seemed to swap-out the latex straps look for something akin to military nylon with kevlar patches and some stereotypical ninja gunk thrown on top. It doesn't really feel like a BDSM suit to me anymore.

I think it was a fan made thing where they get ahold of the official 3D model and pose it because he was naked but I cropped the body out. xD Does kind of look like him in 4. Let's try this again

While I would like to have more costumes for the males especially characters like Ein or Leon who only have 3 currently, I can see it from TN perspective that the swimsuits/female outfits bring in the most $$$ regardless of region.

Why make alot of male costumes if they won't sell? Having good principle alone doesn't pay the bills and pay the employees. The majority of the DoA players if not gamers in general are males aged 18-35 with simple animal instincts under the shell of intelligence.

In any case more male costumes are coming in the next batch along with a new stage so can't complain since you can buy costumes individually now.

If sales were everything, TN would just release a full-on porn game starring the DOA girls. It would sell. I have no doubts about it. But, the idea is: "Hey, maybe some people want something other than boobs." It doesn't take that much effort to appease those people as well. If Hayabusa got his 4 costumes from vanilla and 1 DLC costume, his classic one, I'd be content with him. That'snot much. It's not much at all. Sure I'd like more, but I recognize that their effort prioritizes where the money goes. Still, that's not excuse enough to absolutely fuck over every male character in favor of those sales. If that were the case, they would put 0 time in gameplay and balance and 100% focus into boobs. There are people who want other things, and they will pay for it. Don't ignore them.
