that panda outfit is straight up worse than the original
at least ayane got her best dress back

stages with random shit running back and forth are a meme, but the game should have a couple of them. it's fun when you're playing with, i dunno, FRIENDS, and not stressing out over ranked matches with literal whos.

there's a delicate balance and you still want to make things fair and competitive in this genre, but don't be a boring, 100% safe bitch either. christ.

on the new stage. i like that it's well lit and easy to see. back in the day EVEN night time stages had amazing visibility and colors, until 5 fucked it up with its lighting system. needless to say it will be a while until i want a night/dark stage again.

but a freeway? really? with cars just VEEEEEEERY conveniently parking in a circle because you needed a volatile stage border? it's artistically shit.

Kinda makes me worried for Lisa's trailer

Lisa will have the most awesome trailer of them all, deserving of the queen she is..

.
In the last seconds of the trailer a big, fat burning tank truck will crash on her and Koei Tecmo will be like: Gotcha! Bitch's so dead, lulz.

Well, that's when Koei Tecmo EU cuts the trailer...

@Jadeinchains

Not a big fan of the stage. It looks like a little "box" with cars all around and no way to see what there is behind. And a big lack of artistic research. Still waiting for old style stages like those in landscape with big panorama or Japanese temples in huge areas...

As much as I like the CONCEPT of this new stage, I agree with you on the “artistic research” part.

This is a great point. Almost all stages lack the artistry and mastery that older DOA stages had until DOA4. They've become really basic and bland and boring to look at.
A good example is the beach stage in DOA3 and in comparison the beach stage in DOA5. Yes, both are beach stages, with a beach and palm trees and the sea... But you can do so much more with that setting if you actually set your imagination free and give it an artist's touch, instead of just throwing all the necessary parts together:

(Sorry in advance for the awful picture quality)

It's a random beach alright.

A very special and unique beach location. One you'd pay a million bucks to go on vacation to.
Here an artist was going the extra mile for extra atmosphere. The glowing sunset, the distinct rock formations in the ocean, the large flock of sea gulls circling above, the palms are much more elegant, swaying much more strongly in the sea breeze, so you atually feel the breeze. Not all palms are the same and stand straight, but they are all individual, some are slanted, some are curved and one has even tipped over a long time ago in a beautiful detail. That's masterful environmental story telling. This mastery lacks mostly in any DOA after DOA4. I guess when that big shift in the team occured after DOA 4 the original environmental artists left with Itagaki?
That's really sad, because DOA was the master of all fighting games what absolutely beautiful stages was concerned.

Classic DOA stages still graphically and artistically holds up in this modern day. DOA5 stages bored me to tears. :(

Speaking of beach stages, @Leifang mentioned TN should implement one on DOA6 with a little twist to it like this.

I'm so agree with you. I always had this feeling that Itadaki (or Itadaki's team) considered every DOA stages like a work of art. I think that this artistic vision is gone with him. I just tried to make a quit edit of some of the actual stages and try to imagine what they could look like with the old artistic vision. It's a very quick work! XD

- This waterfall with no view:
Actual stage 1.jpg
... could become this:
Dreamt stage 1.jpg

... and let's have fun a little more!
doa6-screenshot.jpg could become Dreamt stage 2.jpg
or
Let's turn Actual stage 3.jpg into Dreamt stage 3.jpg

I actually like this new stage, it looks very intense which seems to be the theme of DOA6. I agree that the stage could’ve been more artsy but compared to other 3D fighters of this generation, these stages really outrank them. At least in DOA the stages are interactive whereas in Tekken and SC it’s just a boring arena with maybe a wall or breakable floor.

I’m happy they’re finally doing something with the weather, now all I want is a rain stage with rain and lightning, I wish the Mugen Tenshin village would be a stage in 6, I remember when Raidou came back to the village to steal the Torn Sky Blast that it was storming in the village. I really hope they’ll do something with that.

Besides that I hope that they’ll reboot some older stages and bring back cliffhangers and stairthrows because they fit with this intense fighting theme 6 wants to go with.

I just realized something with the merchandise portrayed in the trailer, don't know if anyone has said something already about the matter.

7+6+¿7?+¿6? = ¿28 characters?

Well with there being 25 deluxe outfits and there being 25 badges ( we can guess one for each character ) I guess It is 25 characters at launch, Unless Nyo and Phase 4 aren't counted with that 25 characters because they are preorder and deluxe exclusive characters in which case we could say that there will be 27 characters at launch? But who knows, It could be any number still.

There's 18 characters revealed so far plus Nyo and Phase 4 makes 20 and then Lisa, Kokoro and the new girl that we basically know are going to be in makes 23 revealed characters so far.

PS: The official site has been updated with Christie and the new stage -

I zoomed in and one badge is just blank, there’s nothing there so it’s 7+6+7+5= 25 characters.

If someone is handy with editing pictures and such could someone try to remove the white from this picture?

I think that badge might be for a secret character (probably Raidou) that will be unlocked after completing story mode and that's why it's blank.
