Final charcter select screen (all characters)

Actually I saw her sparring mode count and it was well over 100. Pai would be similar as well. Working around someone else contraints isn't as simple as you're making it out to be. Getting them to work in a new gameplay system is harder than a new character you have complete control over.
Nope it's still by far more simple than you think, coming up with something new and original is by far harder to do, than from doing something that you have reference for. It takes longer to make it original, unique, while the having reference makes it simpler, but all that's needed is some button changes. Actually you also have complete control over any character doesn't matter what company they're from...you'll always have complete control. You make it sound like new ideas is just cut paste... Virtua Fighter button layout is no different from Dead or Alive except guard button and of course there are some certain ways they perform moves but still it's more simple than coming up with something new.
Don't know if you animated before, but try it for yourself and you have to remember to compare your characters to others that have already been made, plus you have to draw out the concepts first over and over (also includes all the costumes you put on them), ex. for move sets if you make a Karate User you have to compare him or her to say ex. Ein or Hitomi, but you have to make your character unique from them. Versus if you can completely use another company's character and all you have to do is mostly organize their similar control scheme and draw out the character concepts that are already recognized.

I really hate it when peoples talk about others game in another games forums but, for Tekken, it's true that they have a lot of characters but most of them are clones with a few different moves. Harada is cheating the Tekken fans but they don't even know it. If you subtracts all the clone, they would have only about 25 characters at most. Not to mention, what's the point of having so many characters if you see only 10 of them are being used throughout online and even tournaments? Tekken might look like having a lot but it actually isn't. It seem that you only care about numbers.

Actually TTT2 has 43 original characters they even made some of the copy and paste characters more unique, however DOA 5 plays much better and smoother. I admit I do like a lot of characters on my plate because for me it gives the game a bit more longevity and more to try out. My only disappointment is since it's been 7 years since DOA 4 not counting DOAD, I would assume at least more new original DOA 5 characters- I was hoping for at least 4. Considering DOAD had 26 I'm thinking it should have more and be much more superior concerning the character roster size.

Tengu, Momiji, Rachel, and Leon as DLC. Ein Could just be a Hayate with a secret command or something lol.

I just want to see Alpha gameplay, I'm almost certain there's no way she's the "Final Boss" of the game yet again, on top of that I want to see what's done with her in this game. I really hope she's not the "Post-Launch" character. It's one thing to say she's the "surprise" when the only people that know about her are the people who look at leaked lists and achievement lists. It's another thing to say she the "surprise" when everyone clearly saw her in the story mode trailer.

If anything, Donovan should be the "secret post-launch" character even if he's Boss-Only.
Donovan would be awesome, he's been behind the scenes too much except the movie. Would be awesome if he's playable, now that would be a good surprise no one is expecting another new character at all. Possible spoiler alert: Who knows, he could have two versions, one is the playable version, and his last one is when he shows his true power.

Nah you're over simplifying things. The VF5 characters added in DOA5 are incredibly unique and have a plethera of animations and work by a completely different set of rules.

For example in the Pai vs Genfu vid, she does a hold that puts Genfu in a unique stun that allows for follow ups. There's tons of small and unique details added to the system to fit them in properly. There's a lot more depth than meets the eye.

They really need to just show us some Alpha-152 gameplay already. We know she's there. They know we know. Out with it already.
Seriously i cant wait. I just cant wait to see her animation and new moves, since team ninja has been doing such a good job, with adding unique tools for each character. Just imagine what Alpha could do, being that she isnt restricted to being a human, or even a ninja.

She'll likely behave similarly to her Dimensions incarnation. I'm not sure how good she'll be, though. Might be more of a novelty character than anything tournament worthy. Time, and the effort of some of you guys, will tell.

Whether Alpha-152 is "tournament worthy" or not, I'll still make sure to use her in any DOA5 scene I can get to. She needs some love. I'm more interested in her Power Blow than anything else. I'm also wondering what her Critical Burst will be. Most likely :3::K:. Her playing like she does in Dimensions is fine by me. She wasn't slow at all and packed a mean punch. Her parry just needs to have follow-ups.

What with all of the random drama that cropped up in this thread for some reason, the real reason we should be upset right now seems to have slipped everyone's notice: the title of the thread is typo'd.

I noticed it immediately after I created the topic. However, you're not able to edit the subject line after posting a new thread, it seems. Big whoop, lol.

YEah and imagine her cliff hangers. And she needs to lose that annoying float animation from DOAD. And shes really easy to counter and she kinda has no counters. So i hope they fix that.

Her floating stance is what I like about her. It makes her seem to flow much more. Plus, if she didn't have it, imagine the juggling she could do from her :P::P::P::P::P::P::P: or :8::K::K::K::K:. She's already ridiculously safe as it is. I'll be OK with her counter holds still being teleports as long as she can do her Hoshinpo follow-ups she had in DOA4 after them.

Yeah thats true. I just hope she doesnt end up being a novelty fighter. And i hope she loses that sha sha sha noise she makes. I like her more in DOA4.

I really love how the character select have more serious look to it. :)
