DOA6 interviews

I doubt KT demanded that Nyo in particular be the DLC character. They probably could've made it whomever so long as they picked a female.

It still fits Koei Tecmo like a goddamned glove. A reminder that even Team Ninja thought the costumes they was designing and making in DOA5 was too much in an interview that was brought into this website a few years ago.

I wouldn't be surprised that they are still being this greedy despite the developers genuinely wanting this to be taken more seriously.

Eugh, that sounds as if Nyo and the Deluxe Edition costumes aren't directly available for separate purchase when the game launches. I want at least a few Deluxe Edition costumes for characters that are really costume starved (unfortunately that's mostly the male characters and unfortunately their body models will look all messed up in most of that wrestling gear).
Do we know if Nyo is at least guaranteed with every physical preorder, no matter the store? A recent interview made it sound as if Nyo was only a preorder bonus at select, big stores like Gamestop. I hate Gamestop. I always support my smaller, local game store and I do usually receive preordered games several days before official release there. Do they have Nyo as a preorder though?
They really bully me to buy that Digital Deluxe Edition. I don't like going fully digital though. I always buy bigger games, especially games that I do care for, physically... *sighs*

Well, only a month out and the game still can't be pre-ordered on PC.

So there's that. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

They've never once said anything about store exclusivity.

We've known for a long while that there wasn't going to be a pre-order on PC. The pre-order content is just early buy content on PC. Now, why you can't pre-order, who knows.

They are implementing Steam's advice ( https://partner.steamgames.com/doc/store/prepurchase )

And quite frankly given the irrelevance of the IP and the history of the DOA5 pre-sale… I wouldn't be surprised if Steam just said NO when KT wanted to start a pre-order campaign.

I really don't get the relevance of pre-orders for digital products anyway… I don't use the wishlist feature, but I'd assume the point is that you will get a notification once the game becomes available/goes on sale, so you add it to your wishlist and then you click the purchase button once the notification arrives…

Yes, they did. I don't know in which of the many articles/interviews I read it, it were so many, but it was written in a way that sounded like it was only specific, bigger stores. Especially Gamestop was mentioned. It was a kinda vague statement though.

Ya you get a email if a game on your wishlist goes on sale.

Yeah this is almost definitely what’s going on again with DOA6. Shimbori’s not the one signing off on those booby mouse pads with NiCO on them, y’know?

Developers can see how sales are doing or are planning to do. It's the only reason. No benefit for us. If you don't do it you miss out on content.

That isn't benefit as much as it is taking advantage. Which makes the situation with Phase 4 even worse... which makes this worse than the Tira situation in SCVI.

I guess only people that have more money to waste are important enough to play as her.

There pre-order options are honestly some of the worst I've seen... like the dumb steel book that doesn't even come with a voucher for the outfits and Phase 4. I believe you even miss out on a pre-order outfit if you decide to get the digital deluxe separately from the steel book.

Some Japanese publishers seem to be really weird about steam. FFXIV is like this too where their expansions don't pop up for pre-sale till like only a few days before launch. Basically long enough to get it pre-installed.

I see absolutely no reason to ever have pre-order bonuses that can't be purchased separately... I would also like clarification on that, and also on physical pre-order stuff. There's a place I could pre-order for thirty dollars less than digitally through my PS4 but I have no idea what it comes with. Communication for stuff like this is essential and frankly lacking here.

Well, I admit when I'm wrong. I did some searching and it does look like the physical pre-order bonuses are only for select retailers.

But, in my defense, that's kind of dumb. lol

Also, here's a picture they released with what you can get. The main site says that pre-order bonuses will be available for purchase post-release. But, I suppose that doesn't answer whether it will be available immediately.

What I don't understand is why does Phase 4 only come with the digital version? Is KoeiTecmo so cheap that they can't put out the money to print a piece of paper with the code on it?

P4 comes with any and all deluxe editions. The rub is that North America only has a digital deluxe edition. Not sure about Europe, but probably the same deal.

Thanks for looking this up again. ;)
So I guess I'm basically forced to buy the Digital Deluxe Edition then... *sigh* They know exactly what they are doing...
As I stated in my profile, this is the first time ever that I am not excited for a new DOA, I'm mostly annoyed.

I blame Koei Tecmo. I'm still hyped myself and got the Digital Deluxe version but I want to strangle them for this ridiculous nonsense of doing the same shit as Anthem and simply not giving us the physical Deluxe version for whatever reason.

They want to push digital sales. Since it is not going at the rate they wished for, they now bully players into buying digitally.
