bikini pack certainly will be coming. hoping the new beach stage will be lively and not the exact copy of 5 beach stages.

Hi, I'm the author of the modding tools for DOA6.
Some of you wondered about the data mining of the new stage, I'll post here what I discovered (I posted this alredy in the LL forums, for future reference, that's pretty much the home of DOA6 modding and where I would post anything unusual I find).

The evidence that points to Zack Island as future stage are two.
One of them is a texture ("dead" file 0xc121c017.g1t in container RRPreview).

The texture looks like this:

(Note: the color scheme may vary, in fact the color scheme was very different when the texture was loaded in Photoshop). Like this (I had to screenshot it, as it would loose this color when saving in other format):

The texture looks like a preview texture, like the ones you can see in background in other stages.

The other evidence is a "dead" file called "Envs_S1601ISL_env.motor.kidsscndb.kidsobjdb" in the KIDSSystemResource container.
The "S1601ISL" name matches other stage names convention.

For example, S0101PIR is "Forbidden Fortune"; "S1101BAM" is Miyabi, etc, with the last numbered current stage being "S1501GRD" (Chamber of potential).

It is worth to mention that these files were "dead", this meaning, they were unlisted from main .rdb, but still existed in the .rdb.bin* files. "Dead files" are usually old files that have been updated or discarded, these ones, however, were in the 1.06 containers (bin_9), which suggest they are files in development.

The latest version of my rdbtool (0.8) can extract these "dead" files

So we are getting a beach stage then, is the rumour of getting 2 characters true or not?

Edit: I really don’t want those dumb ass swimsuits. We should get beach outfits over those swimsuits.

Regular bikinis/swimsuits ins't something bad per se. The issue imo are micro bikinis, not regular bikinis or swimsuits.

If they are nothing too lewd (like Xtreme subseries most risky bikinis), if they match each character personality and if they are for both genders, it shouldn't be a problem.

A lot games have bikinis/swimsuits.

I haven't seen anything specific to any character yet. Since very first version of game, the .exe (after steam decryption) has some strings that are like this: "character_point_HON", "character_point_HON", etc, I think this may refer to the level points for each character. Well, there are also these: character_point_EX1, character_point_EX2, ..., character_point_EX10, that suggest they have allocated space for a maximum of 10 extra characters (this includes Mai and Kula, because character_point_MAI and character_point_SNK don't exist even in 1.06 version).

So that's the only info I have about new characters, that you will unlikely see more than 8 more in total in the future. The fact that they allocated all those character doesn't necesarily mean they will make use of it, but if they did, the game would have a total of 36 characters, like DOA5LR iirc.

I just don’t think swimsuits are a good idea, I think they should put those in the X series. DOA6 is just gonna be a worse DOA5LR with all the fetish sets and swimsuits.

It's ok not liking it but regular bikinis aren't some kind of mistake. Swimsuits and bikinis existed in fighting games (and in DOA) even before DOA Xtreme existed.

They are normal clothes that you can find in stores, it's not even something sexual per se. It's just seasonal content, like wedding, halloween and christmas costumes.

If they don't add micro bikinis, that gravure idols mode or things like OMG physics it shouldn't be an issue.

I don't think it's the swimsuits necessarily that are an issue but I think it turned people off and made the memes against DOA being a fap fighter worse when DOA5 began releasing tons of swimsuits as DLC(DOA didn't really have swimwear except in DOA1 and after DOAXBV where they added some in DOA2U), especially the revealing ones and the recolors xD I wouldn't mind them adding swimsuits in as long as everyone has them, I want Kasumi to get the violet bikini one from 5U, that's her best swimsuit imo besides her not wearing shoes

Exactly, that's why I think they should stick to the volume set formula they use(but still make costumes be able to be bought individually) so that everyone can get something, it was lame in DOA5LR when the girls always got something but the guys only got something in certain packs. The girls are more popular but they'll basically get even more money if they sell the girls and men costumes all at once

Beach stage is good and makes sense to announce alongside bikini outfits if they do that. Though I would prefer more casual outfits - Hitomi doesn't even have a denim jacket yet!
I also agree that beachwear other than bikinis might be cool.

That would be the best outcome imo. Bikinis and swimsuits for everyone, matching they personalities and not selling new packs every single year, just this time. That would be a regular treatment in other fighting games.

But I guess it would be another lose/lose situation for Team Ninja. People here will complain because bikinis is a tabu word and Xtreme fans in reddit will complain because these wouldn't be the super skimpy micro bikinis they are used to buy.

Sometimes looks like Team Ninja can't play the middle ground like other companies because DOA fanbase must be one of the more split up communities I have ever seen.
