    Finally finished Clair Obscur Expedition 33 - they turned the theme of grief and how we cope with death into such a masterful story with probably the best turn-based gameplay mechanics. Don't think I've played a game with that powerful of a story. Can't wait for the film adaptation.

    What are you guys' thoughts on Injustice? That game hasn't seen a sequel since 2017. But yeah, I just want NRS to stand by a game or just not bother and try something else.

    Most would assume I'd main Catwoman based on my personality, but of all characters, I never thought I'd see myself maining Cyborg.

    I also wanted to git gud with Manta just on the aura of his victory pose alone.

    @Force_of_Nature minus the gear system, Injustice 2 is really solid, it has a large cast of varied and fun characters, despite being keep away/zoner heavy the balance is great, it's an NRS title that respects legacy skill, only thng that brings it down is having optional character moves tied to random gear, especially since alot of those moves feel like they should be in characters base kits

    Well, it was it either City of the Wolves or Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. I enjoyed the city of the wolves beta but realistically I won't play it long term, and I haven't played an exciting RPG in awhile.

    hm the Switch 2 livestream was interesting. Alot of third party support games (and good ones), but was hoping for more exclusives. I think I'll still try to get one the S2 day one

    Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is looking to replace my love for Final Fantasy XIII. Don't remember the last time I was excited for a RPG.

    Diego's stun game is bad, but decent frames on his 6p, 2p, and 5p. I see why no one rarely plays him despite his ease of use.

    Neutral game is iffy too. Trade off for easy gameplay.

    I've been playing him on P.C for a few days. He's quite fun, but struggling with opening people up with stuns. You really have to rely on his neutral and CH 6P to get something started, but I like a challenge.

    Ez to play but not too strong is a good balance, unlike some other characters *coughKasumicough*

    Fatal Fury, no training mode in the beta? I get that it's a network test (which is going horribly by the way, Wait times are atrocious), but a game with that many mechanics needed a training mode for the beta.

    training mode with permanent fight request on would be the ideal compromise, that way you can practice your shit in-between matches and still be part of the network stress test, being forced into matches for a new game with 0 time to get used to mechanics is annoying, but at the end of the day these betas aren't really here for our benefit, it just a way for devs to stress test and get some free advertising

    Damn all those system mechanics in Fatal Fury. Maybe I'm just getting older, but I feel like I can't keep up with all this lol.

    Lol, and here I just wanted to see the stage planes make a return (along with the first Garou MotW's mechanics). Would have been interesting to see what they could do with the idea in today's tech.

    Perhaps DOA7 will get announced closer to NG4's release date with DOA7 having a release date of 2026? They've already teased us seeing other "familiar faces", in NG4.

    Characters I absolutely hate fighting in VF5: Shun Di, Taka, and Lion. All three are cancer.

    Soul Calibur VI deserved better. One of the best Soul Calibur's since 2.

    SCVI's "World Tour" getting cancelled back in 2020 coupled with the atrocious delayed netcode was a nail in the coffin for the game. Last DLC released at the end of 2020 too. Disheartened that there doesn't seem like a SCVII in sight.

    Disk space aside, I liked SC3 and 4 more. Not a fan of RE, CE, homing verticals, and BNBs locked under a time limit known as SC.

    I know that this is an unpopular opinion, but I think that SCV is an underrated game. Wish that they didn't muck with the SC roster and didn't unnecessarily buff Viola. The only thing I prefer in SCVI is better step-guard. (On a different note, SCIV & SCV still look amazing on 27-inch screens).

    official switch 2 trailer just dropped. Fully backwards compatible with switch legacy games. Day one buy for me for sure. Can't wait to see the game lineup.

    I'm hoping it can have some triple A titles this time around, although I've always loved Nintendo for having their mainstream casual Mario games. They're a breathe of fresh air.

    I know that the trailer was just a teaser but I wasn't very impressed by it. Felt like a bland upgrade video making it look like a New Switch XL instead of a 10th (or 9.5th?) gen console. However the console design looks fantastic. I hope that the joycons are MUCH better made this time around..

    I'm a bit more impressed after watching IGN's breakdown of the trailer. Speaking of innovation, each controller doubles as mouse? :O That's pretty cool. Seems like there's actually a lot of tech in every corner of this thing.

    hitting big wall combos in VF feels so rewarding. Wondering if I should stream REVO when it drops on P.C and showcase my El Blaze journey. Playing Ultimate showdown til then.

    The main reason why VF gets the rep for being a hard game is because people don't want to respect frames, and attempt to 2p their way out of everything. There are a lot of high level strats/concepts as is in any fighter, but none of that matters if you don't know the basics. Now if only I knew how to appropriately break throws lol.

    This is too true for VF

    knowing how to apply/beat system mechanics like Fuzzy Guard, Sidestep into defensive option, LTE, etc are way more important because the universal techniques in VF are just too strong, moreso than in other 3D fighters like DOA and Tekken

    yeah I'm learning that VF has alot of advanced techniques and option selects to beat alot of stuff. I'm still struggling with properly throw breaking. I think once I get the hang of that, I can move on to some of the advanced stuff. I have fuzzy guarding, and evade canceling down though.
