    Sidestep from disadvantage: some questions

Ah, I see. The only other game I play with a SS is Tekken, so I went in trying to use it like that. Doa SS does feel like it works better as a spacing tool more so then general evasion. Like knowing their options at range 2 or 3 kinda thing. Thanks for the example.

    Sidestep from disadvantage: some questions

It just makes me sad to see it is so limited I guess. Went into training to test it a little better. At neutral I am able to beat the side step with damn near anything. My fastest non tracking mid hits. My non tracking launchers hit. It must just be there to beat string delay and mixups, like...

    Sidestep from disadvantage: some questions

Side step feels very random to me. I try to use it in smart ways and it really doesn't work in a manner it should. Like with Hayate I do 2p so I'm at neutral, I go for a SS and get hit. Oh I'm at a slight frame disadvantage. I'm gonna risk a SS, chances are they won't throw...smack! Might just...

Ryu Hayabusa: The Thinking Man's Super Ninja

Ok, I have been trying to get creative with Ryu and here is at least something I found. 3P on counter hit is really good. Safe mid punch that gets under highs just kinda slow. At first I thought it was just a good stun till I had an idea. You can play a pretty screwed up guessing game on...

Ryu Hayabusa: The Thinking Man's Super Ninja

An easy way is to do the first part, then spin the analog stick and press hold when you see combo hold pop up. If you find that too hard just try and mash it out. It will work eventually.

Ryu Hayabusa: The Thinking Man's Super Ninja

I feel the same freaking way. I just can't win with him. Ever. I'm an awfull player but still. I should at least be able to beat people who know less then me >_> Like today I got a guy into one of his plus 2 traps. I go mid....he jabs....Next time I get him into the situation I go high...I get...

    New DOA5 Backdash

The way I see it is it is just another tool to use. It's kinda is like in Tekken. You can tell who the good players are by the way they move. It also helps seperate the boundary between people who know what they are doing and those that don't. I admit it kinda sucks that less then a quarter the...

Ryu Hayabusa: The Thinking Man's Super Ninja

Here is how you play Ryu. Throw punish..... And pray they have no good mids so you can try and crush. While trying to bait as many Izuna holds as possible.

    Worst DOA character ever?

She has guaranteed follow ups depending on what move she holds I think. Unless I'm thinking of her Parry.

    New DOA5 Backdash

I got a chance to talk with Code, since it is a teleport when done fast enough we like the name flash step. Or flash stepping. Yeah, GentlemanThief I heard you were already using it at tournaments and stuff. Did it give you a big advantage at all? Were any of the matches saved? I would really...

Does anybody know if there will be controllers provided? I have yet to buy a ps3 pad or converter and it is growing late. Does the Merced area have much of a scene? It would be pretty cool if so. Playing offline is so much better. Something funny is I see north and south California, what about...

    IGN's DOA5 Wiki Contributors Thread

After I see how you format yours I will get to it. Ryu is pretty much done anyways. He doesn't have much. I don't have much written on Ayane yet, have been using her so just need to get it into words. There is also the issue of the patch coming up. I guess the wiki could be edited but still.

    New DOA5 Backdash

With Ayane you could try :1::1::8:. Not sure how fast it cancels though. The next motion is kinda tough to describe. :1::1:(Hold down back this also puts her in back turned stance) Then do the same motion as was being used to do the rapidash xD. Maybe you tap back instead of down? Brad Wong can...

    New DOA5 Backdash

Very, very cool. I hope at least a few people use it. Characters that have back turned stances also have special movement options. I can describe a few ideas if anybody is interested. They look dumb but are semi useful. Thanks for showing off what it can do.

If so, I just mash it out like Izuna. The timing is a little stricter though.
