    SkullGirls

Should be explanation enough. I believe it's been mentioned somewhere that Mike wanted to create a grappler that didn't have the usual troubles of traditional grapplers (hard to get in, etc.) It's honestly refreshing to see a grappler that can do well in a Vs. style game.

I have my Kneesocks Parasoul so I'm happy. Next to unlock will probably by v-13 Peacock or the Mike Z "Emerald" Tager for Cerebella.

Pallete 9 is unlocked by fighting people a certain number of times. I dunno however if it's both offline and online, or online only.

    The Fight Stick Thread

Thread is right up my alley (since I do moderate SRK's Tech Talk section). Project: International Slumber - Art Hobbies TEK-1 case, Toodles MCCthulhu, MadCatz 360 FightPad, Sparky Jr. + 6 Arc Eyes under Seimitsu PS14-Gs. Custom 35mm balltop by butteroj with a limited edition Toodles metal...

Do you think Team Ninja Has the balls to bring this game to events for testing 'in the wild"?

They should show demo play at majors and keep pointing out that "hey look, you can't always hold/counter out of hitstun."

GamesTM: Dead Or Alive 5 “the next step” for fighting games, says Team Ninja

This is coming from a 2D background, but from our experience, letting throws be breakable/techable on reaction ruins the delicate RPS dynamic of "attack < block/guard < throw." Compare ST where throwing someone 5 times in a row is perfectly viable to BB where non-command throws are barely used...

Is DOA5 the first game that could be "Fighting Entertainment"?

As usual, SNK beats *so-and-so* developer in introducing and "innovation." Speaking of which, Ryoko getting a kiss from that chick in the bonus stage shows that they beat everyone else on that girl-on-girl action as well. Playing MvC2 where the only characters you can choose are MegaMan or...

Do you think Team Ninja Has the balls to bring this game to events for testing 'in the wild"?

Before they publicly showcase the game at any major, they need to set up private loketests first with known competitive players. Capcom's been doing that since before SFIV and so has Namco, TN needs to learn from them.

GamesTM: Dead Or Alive 5 “the next step” for fighting games, says Team Ninja

Because being able to break a throw on reaction is stupid and ruins throws. The only way you should be able to break a throw is if you read it right, like in 3S (or Skullgirls) where you have to input the command on almost the same frame as your opponent does. Throw breaks in SCV work more...

Xbox 360 and PS3 region lock

PS3 isn't region locked. The issues usually stem from trying to play PAL games on an NTSC TV via SD/Component video where you end up getting a black and white screen.

NG3 Making Folks Wary of DOA5

The reaction to any DOA news that I'm seeing on a certain site who's front page I write for (okay, it's SRK) seems to be telling me that NG3's less than stellar reception is actually hurting DOA5. I mean, sure people can simply dismiss this as front page trolling (again, something that can get...

Street Fighter x Tekken = Ass?

Street Fighter x Tekken = Ass?

There will always be lag, whether or not you use rollback netcode. The difference is that rollback netcode, like what SFxT uses does not have variable input lag. The problem with most fighting game netcodes is that they introduce variable input lag, meaning that the deal with changes to the...

Street Fighter x Tekken = Ass?

The point is, from a pure gameplay perspective, this is the best damn netcode for any disc released fighting games ever. The only games that have better netcode are download releases that use GGPO (and anything on GGPO itself). Consensus among the 2D crowd is that if the scrubs complaining gets...
