Hmm, I don't think I like how he plays now. I do like that unholdable moves from force tech and tech rolling are back though. Being able to make a +3 and a +4 move unholdable is really nice.

The ground game in Doa5u is so weird. One minute 2P+K hits on the ground, and the next it doesn't. If I've lost most of my 2P+K force tech set-ups, then I might consider that to be his biggest nerf.

Doesn't Bayman get sliced across the face early in the story?

I'll take slow over nothing (4pk doesn't really count) any day of the week. Eliot is already dreadfully slow anyway, so it fits with the rest of his moveset. Its chances of being countered, like everything in this game, relies entirely on your ability to non-telegraph the attack imo.

He only has only mid tracking move at the minute, yet it's so slow that it never hits anyone. And it's mid string as well. This move fixes that problem. Anyway, check out this thread for a more in-depth analysis of the problem of having an almost completely linear moveset...

I really don't think that applies in this situation though, because, for example his new 4K is such a buff that it outweighs the negatives of a now unsafe 6h+k. And really that's just the stuff he can see on the surface, we don't know yet how his ground game or anything like that has changed...

In my opinion the whole Eliot fiasco is greatly, greatly exaggerated. Losing an open-stance situational set-up does not ruin him, and neither does a 2-in-1 moves that covers great distance, guarantees a ground hit, and crushes low becoming unsafe. Yes it sucks, but it's not the end of him, and...

I wonder how they knew to nerf h+k into 6p+k. I've barely seen it mentioned around here, and it's not like there's a lot of Eliot players around to showcase his set-ups. I doubt TN did it just to make Eliot worse, as I doubt they knew it existed in the first place. I suspect they changed a lot...

They fixed the typo!

They got two skilled players to test it I see.

I wouldn't worry about it too much. Eliot has always been able to CB after his sabaki, and well, we all know where that character ranks.
