Casual/Non frame data changes I hope they make for DOA6

Sweeps have hit people out of the air since SF2. Unless we're talking low sweeps on wakeup (where there is little more than a basic high/low game anyways), I don't see what the issue is...

This. Stuff like this happens because the collision system (either hitboxes or spheres) detects a hit. The only way to take this out would be to make the legs invulnerable on jumping attacks, which could cause a whole lot of other problems.

1. I would love an option to change the game speed like Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo. I know it won't be used in tournaments but its a nice feature that I'm sure casuals would like.

2. Characters should have rivals as well as a special taunts and win poses when fighting them.

3. They should add secrets like hidden stages and have NPC's like family members pop up in stages when certain criteria is met.

4. Unlockable modes after you complete certain criteria like a Two on one boss battle mode in the vein of the Street Fighter Alpha series.

5. Make Chain throws harder to cancel even if it means nerfing the damage.. I cant remember the last time I remember any character completing theirs.

6. Add a stamina meter (non visible) so characters slow down for a short period of time if they spam select moves that are hard to punish.

A continuation of my suggestions for DOA6:
1) No more VF fighters. Don't get me wrong I'm cool with the 3 that we have ('cough" kill Satan "cough") and have accepted them as being a part of the DOA family (and am indifferent to their inclusion for 6) but I think TN should put a cap on that. We've reached a sizable roster of 34 fighters. Personally I think it's time to get a little more "choosy" with who gets put in especially after the reveal of another copycat fighter. This isn't Tekken after all. If they want a guest character from another fighter franchise then I'm cool with that but no more from VF please.
2) The stages. There are good stages in DOA 5 yes and overall the entire stage selection is okay. But okay won't cut it anymore when you're going up against other current gen fighters like MK and Tekken which have some impressive looking stages. I've let LR slide but for 6 my hope is that they fully take advantage of current gen hardware when designing the stages.
3) Create a new boss. 5 was the first game that did not have one (1-Raidou, 2-Banko, 3-Genra, 4-Alpha-152). It was basically all 4 ninjas that kept transforming into one another and was very unoriginal. Bringing Raidou back into a canon game does not excuse them from designing a new boss imo. And Alpha-152 (who I think finally died?) if she's even included should not be in the story at all.
4) At least one new original male fighter. There hasn't been one since Rig in vanilla 5.
5) Allow a tournament mode option that disables swimsuits and fetish wear. Before you start cursing me out with this one saying "Sexy outfits are what makes DOA what it is" and "If people don't like them they shouldn't play the game" just hear me out. The primary focus of a tournament isn't what outfits your character can wear. We're fortunate that we have so many different outfits in DOA to choose from but I personally don't think they have to all be available during competitive play. Look at other fighters where they have C1+C2...and that's it. More isn't always better.

Changes I would like to see:

- Allow two people to play together in tag Survival.
- Add online mode: 'Team Battle'.
- Add character portraits under the health bars.
- Allow people to see which players are in an online lobby before entering.
- Add more stages *cough* Aerial Gardens *cough*
- Tweak angled wall hits. I hate it when they happen.

I'd like DOA to take a major step towards Danger Zones. I guess they tried to implant it with DOA5, seing how Danger Zone and The Flow looked promising. It could be the main "selling point" of DOA6 in terms of marketing (beside the ero-aspect which is already settled).
I want epic stages, I want that feeling while playing Uncharted or Motostorm Apocalypse when everything is getting destroyed and you have to run for your life. It could be a nice challenge with next gen's potential. This of course requires a good emphasis on weather effects and good designers.

Freedom Survivor going Titanic, an avalanche in a remote Hymalayan sanctuary, Burai Zenin being wrecked by a storm, Great Opera on fire, an Egyptian-like pyramid collapsing, a rig/crane or a dam collapsing in North America, a train derailing in China, a massive car crash on a highway, Depth or Aquarium flowed by water and fish, Banpo bridge collapsing in Korea, etc.

I wouldn't mind a stage like Sanctuary to return, provided they remake it better (more details) and make it the way it was planned, that means with Sanctuary, Flow & Primal being connected together. This stage is truly good.

I don't mind if they take some old stages (Desert, Hot Zone) and improve them.
And overall better textures.

The main issues with this are balancing stages like that so that they can be fair for tournaments. The last thing we need is a Smash Bros. like list of which stages are banned from tournament play.

Then, there's also balancing the hardware requirements as stages with too much going on may detract from keeping the game running at a constant 60fps, which once again leads to the point above about a ban-list.

I know you won't like this but eh, fuck tournament standards, thats why we got stuck with shitty empty boxes with vanilla 5. They can have a "tourney style" toggle like how you can toggle off danger zones, so that it compacts everything into a box for tournament play.

For example, I'd love if it you could get knocked out of the ring in the gym stage, and actually fight through the rest of the equipment. But then the classic "Just ring" stage, like how it is now, could be toggled in stage select for tournament play.

So when selecting stages, there's two options, "DOA" and "Tournament", the former being the big sprawling alive environments, the latter being the gated off stages suited for tournament play.

Which brings us to a new problem introduced in Smash 4 where the "For Glory" versions of the stages are all basically Final Destination clones, despite the fact that these stages favor certain characters over other, and the fact that multiple "For Fun" versions of the stages are just as viable for tournaments. This in turn leads to a situation where the game still ends up having a community made ban-list of stages, which is what we want to avoid.

eh. I'd rather have big interactive stages than simply empty boxes, at any rate.

But the point is that you shouldn't go overboard with the interactivity, when a happy medium can be found.

maybe. But right now we are at "nothing", while past games were the medium, so we should at LEAST go back to that. The closes we have right now is that "tower under construction" stage, where it tilts when damaged before knocking somebody down to the apocalypse. I think that's more along the lines of dynamic stages that we could use more of (Assuming you keep the camera at classic lol)
