This. Stuff like this happens because the collision system (either hitboxes or spheres) detects a hit. The only way to take this out would be to make the legs invulnerable on jumping attacks, which could cause a whole lot of other problems.Sweeps have hit people out of the air since SF2. Unless we're talking low sweeps on wakeup (where there is little more than a basic high/low game anyways), I don't see what the issue is...
GAH THE EYE! IT SEES ALL! IT WATCHES US!...and not a single fuck was given.

The main issues with this are balancing stages like that so that they can be fair for tournaments. The last thing we need is a Smash Bros. like list of which stages are banned from tournament play.I'd like DOA to take a major step towards Danger Zones. I guess they tried to implant it with DOA5, seing how Danger Zone and The Flow looked promising. It could be the main "selling point" of DOA6 in terms of marketing (beside the ero-aspect which is already settled).
I want epic stages, I want that feeling while playing Uncharted or Motostorm Apocalypse when everything is getting destroyed and you have to run for your life. It could be a nice challenge with next gen's potential. This of course requires a good emphasis on weather effects and good designers.
I know you won't like this but eh, fuck tournament standards, thats why we got stuck with shitty empty boxes with vanilla 5. They can have a "tourney style" toggle like how you can toggle off danger zones, so that it compacts everything into a box for tournament play. The main issues with this are balancing stages like that so that they can be fair for tournaments. Then, there's also balancing the hardware requirements as stages with too much going on may detract from keeping the game running at a constant 60fps, which once again leads to the point above about a ban-list.
Which brings us to a new problem introduced in Smash 4 where the "For Glory" versions of the stages are all basically Final Destination clones, despite the fact that these stages favor certain characters over other, and the fact that multiple "For Fun" versions of the stages are just as viable for tournaments. This in turn leads to a situation where the game still ends up having a community made ban-list of stages, which is what we want to avoid.I know you won't like this but eh, fuck tournament standards, thats why we got stuck with shitty empty boxes with vanilla 5. For example, I'd love if it you could get knocked out of the ring in the gym stage, and actually fight through the rest of the equipment. But then the classic "Just ring" stage, like how it is now, could be toggled in stage select for tournament play.
So when selecting stages, there's two options, "DOA" and "Tournament", the former being the big sprawling alive environments, the latter being the gated off stages suited for tournament play.
eh. I'd rather have big interactive stages than simply empty boxes, at any rate.Which brings us to a new problem introduced in Smash 4 where the "For Glory" versions of the stages are all basically Final Destination clones, despite the fact that these stages favor certain characters over other, and the fact that multiple "For Fun" versions of the stages are just as viable for tournaments. maybe. But right now we are at "nothing", while past games were the medium, so we should at LEAST go back to that. The closes we have right now is that "tower under construction" stage, where it tilts when damaged before knocking somebody down to the apocalypse. I think that's more along the lines of dynamic stages that we could use more of (Assuming you keep the camera at classic lol)But the point is that you shouldn't go overboard with the interactivity, when a happy medium can be found.
yeah that lol. I don't remember stage names.^ (The top half of) Scramble? XD
