So DOA5LR is still being provided with DLC and such till 2018/2019?
Hope that means we get a Switch port.
At least it will help keep Virtua Fighter alive for a little longer unless Sega does make a new game.

Yeah I'm expecting really good graphics and hopefully great hair, and don't forget @Tyaren wants those good textures!
But yeah I like how long doa5 has been supported for, people have wanted doa6 since like 2015 or something and I always didn't understand the rush since it was cool that doa5 was growing more and more from its support. I think 2019 is a good time though.
I'll look forward to when people are speculating on the characters, outfits stages and story etc, that will be fun. It will be worrying as well though since I'll be scared that Lisa isn't gonna get in.
Not really. Not much changed from 5U to 5LR and 5LR only really had to happen so that we could move on to the current console generation. DOA5 would possibly have struggled if it tried to keep staying alive on older consoles that more and more people will gradually stop using as they upgrade to modern ones.
As for whether or not those DOAFES costumes will become available to the general public, I find that highly unlikely. After all, last year's Marie Rose costume was never made available either. They only gave us a color swap of it and even that was only up for download for about three weeks and is now gone forever. I'd expect the same treatment or nothing at all for this year's set.
Also, it's worth noting that it seems this year's set was only made for PS4 because searching for the relevant costume catalog (LR33) brings up no results on the Xbox Store.

Similarly, 5+ was just a Vita port of vanilla with minimal changes. Taking into consideration that LR was also simply an update to 5U on last gen, rather than a completely different release like 5 -> 5U, it really only took one additional version.

Seven years is more than enough time for 5's lifespan of dlc & patch support. And just because DOA6 is going to come along it doesn't mean DOA5's getting blasted into the void never to be heard from again, the (shitty) servers will likely still be up for some time and people will still be playing it.

Yeah but that's just like TTT2, people still play it and Tekken Revolution(Which is ending March) but it's pointless when there's a new release coming, it's just like how people are still playing the original DOA5. Once I start seeing screens for DOA6 it's a lost cause for me thereafter, I won't play much after that since I know it'll be a matter of time before I have to move on up. I'll have to unlearn 2 characters and squirm in regret that the DLC I bought will now be irrelevant

I wouldn't have liked it if they moved onto doa6 in the years before since I like everyone to be around a supported game but they have to move onto doa6 eventually so I think 2019 is a good time, I'll always like doa5 anyway since it has been such a great game.

Probably another season of DLC costumes or another shitty guest character. That or a... *shudder* ...customization mode...

I'm going to need this thread for the next dlc pics, assuming there is one.
Anyways if IT is DOA6, then I hope they do a better job on everything from textures (including the feet), better stages, unique beautiful models.

I can't think if how they'd do a customization mode, like character creation where you could make an original character. If done right it could be cool but I'm not sure about that.
I'm sure there will be more dlc, if that leak of the next months of dlc is to be believed.

They would have to make DOA6 cross gen (another Last Round scenario) or they would have to make it a PS5 game only, which would mean we didn't get a real current generation DOA and nothing to really compete with Tekken 7 and probably SC6.
I'm personally hoping we aren't stuck with Last Round and it's DLC milking for another 2-3 years (I don't want to even imagine into what the game has turned by then) and that within the year 2018 DOA6 will be released.

If the announcement is Dead or Alive 6, I do hope that TN make some big changes like they did from DOA4 to DOA5.
