Hayate might be able to pull off a knight helm, but he'd be better without it.

Effeminate? Effeminate people don't break people's backs, stomp on their feet and punch them in the face, chop them in the back of the necks and say "GOOD VIBRATION" pretty boy maybe, effeminate? Fraid not. People can't seem to let that fishnet shirt go. Reminds me of people who always said muscle shirts were gay.

Spartans were toned but some had a tendency to be lean.

Ein would do just fine in the gear. Even if that wasn't the case, he could just put on some armless mail instead of being bare chested. Robin Hood gear on the other hand, would be more fitting for Brad.

No, that's straight up "androgynous". An effeminate guy is not oft mistaken for a girl, like those two are. An effeminate guy is recognized as an effeminate guy. Like Elliot, and Hayate/Ein.

Few things.

1) Ein is Low on the manliness tier, not High. While Brad is mid-high, not Low.

2) I'm sorry, but with that same exact costume (The 300 Spartan), someone like Leon would come out looking like the manliest of badasses, while Ein would come out looking like a chippendale fetish dancer.

If being effeminate is in the face, DOA2-4 Hayabusa isn't partiuclary manly looking and is in the same boat as Hayate. If being a pretty boy was the only pre-req for being effeminate, everyone would think Ken (SF) was effeminate, but they don't. And Ein is much more brutal of a character than Ken.

Ein/Hayate have shown vast amounts of effeminacy through out the series such as...

-getting kidnapped/captured like a weak damsel in distress. Real men don't get kidnapped

-His outfit choices: He rocks flower patterned ninja gear, shiny ricky martin dress shirts, fishnet clothing, and shirtless unbuttoned tight red jeans. If that doesn't scream effeminate i don't know what does

-His refusal to bone Hitomi: She clearly wants his D but he shows no interest. real men have sex! Busa boned irene, bass boned his wife and had tina, zack boned nikki, leon boned lauren, and even genfu boned a many bitches in his younger days all these guys are real men who have boned

It's part of their whole "Pretty boy" schtick. Elliot flat out looks like a girl, being borderline androgynous (Less so in 5, hence borderline), while Ein, well...he's either chippendale, or straight up gay. That's the impression he gives off.

It's not a matter of "not overly masculine", its that they go in the COMPLETE other direction. Elliot is...kind of a nancy boy, while Ein is more like Freddy Mercury.
