Wow, his body looks extremely wet. It was not that sweaty in DOA5LR. But it also looks kinda like an action figure. ;D

Didn't you notice the characters were extremely sweaty since the game was revealed? I hope there's some kind of sweat intensity slider in the options menu. Some sweat is cool and sexy, but the characters looking as if they just came out of the swimming pool after they performed their intro pose is imo a bit too much.

even when doa DOES have characters looking oily, it still manages to pull it off better than Tekken... they turned noctis’s face into a whole mirror

Looks like a screenshot of a heavily compressed Youtube video. So you won't get it in higher quality.

I think it's this video:

Oh come on! You're the master of screenshoting YouTube compressed stuff and converting them into higher quality *remembers FFXV photos* xD

I loved to have the wet/dirt feature on in 5, but I’m totally thinking on turning them off in 6 just because of this. They get TOO wet/dirty (and waaaay too quickly), and the dirty textures aren’t even that good. The fact that they get fucking sand stuck in their clothes just by fighting at THE MUSCLE, a wrestling ring... yeah, no.
A shame 6 has these little yet annoying things for people who love the small details (like me) is so sad, because it DOES look good by default, but some of the lightning and textures kinda makes it look “ok” at best...

It's so weird that they're even using these fixed dirty textures instead of some kind of shader effect. Like, why? It's probably more consistent across platforms but it looks bad imo.

I was asking why the fuck all stages get characters dirty.

Like..... It’s a wrestling ring but ashes are getting smudged on your clothes?? Nah fam.

The same for DOA Colosseum. If you’re holding a tournament in that ring you’d 100% want someone to clean that shit. That ring shouldn’t produce that amount of dirt.

The dirt also looks the exact same colour on every stage. This is one thing that’s been irking me for a minute.

Devil May Cry 5 is proving everybody wrong repeating for years that 60fps console games, like fighters, can't look amazing:

DMC5 is a 1080p(most of the time) and 60fps game even on the base Xbox One. It features beautifully detailed character models...

...as well as detailed environments, great lighting and a firework of particle effects. I hope with sufficent funding, time and dedication fighting games can look as good as this next generation.

Looks great... Will be playing on Steam for better graphics though.

I am not a PC gamer, but I'm debating almost every day with myself if I should get an Xbox One X for DOA6. It's a pretty expensive console and that just for one game (well, the Witcher 3, which is my favorite game this generation, apparently also looks and runs amazing on it.) I wonder if it is really worth it though... Other than some very vague statement that the game will be better looking on PS4 Pro (which I already own) Team Ninja did not make any comments about what kind of upgrades they are planning for PS4 Pro and Xbox One X. If I had to guess I'd guess the Pro version will get a resolution bump up to 1440p, better texture filtering and higher res shadows, and the X might get a resolution bump up to 1880p (I doubt it will be full 4K at 60fps), better texture filtering and higher res shadows. Both will likely have shorter loading times as well, the shortest on the X.

I guess when DOA6Ultimate comes out for PS5 in one year or so, and I will definitely get the PS5 instead of the next Xbox, all my DLC won't be transferable, again. Just like all my Xbox360 DLC for DOA5 wasn't transferable to the PS4 version of DOA5LR. That happening again would suck, lol.

*sigh*
You keep making these misassumptions about me...

You'll find that many of the most visually stunning games are actually to be found on consoles (Uncharted 4, Horizon Zero Dawn, God of War, Spider-Man, Red Dead Redemption 2 etc.). That's because on PC you might be able to brute force a game to look stunning on a technical level with high image resolution, higher res textures, effects etc., but a just as important part, imo more important even, of graphics is the art. Companies like Sony put a lot of money, time, effort and talent (they employ some of the best artists and designers in the business) into creating visual masterpieces largely circumventing technical limitations of consoles. That's what I am obsessed (if you want to call it that) with, because I am an artist myself, as you might have noticed in the past years.
When you see me talk about graphics here or other forums it's probably 90% of the time about the art, like when I talk about the character models, the costumes or the stages, or when I share my game photography.
4K image resolution and 4K textures actually don't interest me much at all if the art of a game isn't great as well. Take Soul Calibur 6 and Tekken 7 for example, even on PC on the highest settings they look ugly, and I said that about both of them day one. ;)
