Lol I don't actually care for ashrah but I did like the dynamic of the vampire being the guile heroine savior, and the holy light girl being the Brutish villain destructor

Still not sure if having 3 variants for each character is a good idea.
Seems like a balancing nightmare, you just know certain variants are always going to be better than others no matter how much they try to balance them.
I think it would be a much more interesting addition if you could switch variants during a fight, either once a round or have it take a couple seconds to switch.

I like the variation styles for the characters as it adds a lot of depth to the game..I don't think balancing will be an issue as tournament players are helping with it too. I think this a nice feature for the series. I can now use Scorpion who now has a fireball lol. Now that is awesome.
When it comes to tournaments: I have a feeling that Ed Boon will probably implement either an "Exhibition" option (that will automatically select a variation, which you will not find out what it is until the match starts, once the player chooses his/her character) or he'll just add in a random option. In the video, he has plans on doing this so that players won't back out and switch variations over and over if the opponent chooses one that counters it.
