"My sisters want to **** me!" - The Official Hayate Thread

I would have liked it if they added more uniqueness to Hayate's moveset; IMO he's a very boring character, but has a interesting story plot. Kasumi has flashy teleport combo's, and many sit down stuns from elbow attacks, Ayane is more versatile with her spins being able to cancel some attacks into them. Hayabusa utilizes his ninpo stance more in DOA5. Then there's Hayate; what's his signature? What makes him special? Why would I pick Hayate over the other 3 ninja's? He has a nice stance, but you "DON'T" have to use it.
That's exactly it, what made Hayate so great in DOA4(tho he wasn't Ryu tier)was his mid range moves, his old wind dash wasn't the fastest, but it was a signature to using him to the limit, and the actual wind dash to switch sides was very useful.

Now he's exactly the same, some of his strings are finished with a generic mid punch or palm/double palm. Like others have said, you still have to play DoA4 Hayate, and frankly all his juggles? They're exactly the same. Only difference? He can 66kkk out of some of his launches.

Funny tho. All the ninjas have a way directly into their stance from a combo, and a direct way to get to the stance outside of combos, but old Hayate doesn't... hm.

I understand balancing the game but taking away moves & making a character awesome to useless is the wrong way to do it. Like I said Hayate's teleport wasn't some move where you can spam it and win a match all the time NOPE! Its pretty risky because you have
to time it JUST right when the opponent whiff/attacks. If you keep spamming his 236f~2k, you're leaving yourself wide open. So if TN says they're influenced by VF they need to prove it. So far im not really seeing it that much and when did Sega nerf a character down to a weak unsafe ass bitch hmm? Oh yeah!! thats right!! NEVER.

I just have to say I'm glad they brought back his 3.1 throw instead of the DOA4 one. At least how it was originally done(without the ceiling).

Though, I will miss Raijin, it was a really cool, it's just regular xbox controllers suck. Oh well tho, Nakiryu will just have to do then.

Well for me it has nothing to do with the command I just like the throw overall better. It's not too over the top while still making him look cool doing it.

I dont really care about the animation but about the command to do it... It sucks to not be able to do one throw just for the accomplishment of doing every move in the game...

For me it really wasn't all that hard, it's just those regular xbox dpads are terrible. Most people sanded down their rings so that they could use it better.

Probably because Raijin was more well known as the name for "the complicated move".

Yea... I guess. Now that it's coming down to it, i don't care about the old Raijin, the major damage was all that I find useful now, but I doubt it wouldn't be nerfed.

I didn't like him in the pre-alpha build, but he has improved much since than.

-Allowed him to be able to cancel 4f+k neutrally, or cancel into wind dash stance which will be good for whiif punishing.
-His pp6pk or 6pk ended as a high kick in the pre alpha build and was safe. Now it's back to the normal mid kick, but no clue if its safe.
-He's one of the few who can cancel his normal charge attacks.

Uuummm, no. His "improvements" aren't really improvements.

He cannot cancel 4F+K, where did you see or hear that? That move is now in his wind dash and it's stupid unsafe.

That is still a high kick but it acts like a mid kick in juggles and, it's safe.

He can't cancel any of his string charge attacks where'd you hear or read this? His PB is the only charge attack that he can cancel. Lol, but all characters can do that.

Umm typo on 4f+k. I thought he could cancel 4p+k; the backwards wind dash and go into his forward wind dash. I probably mis-read some info on which attacks he could cancel, my bad xD.

He can cancel his charging wind dash, I believe it is 4P+K by pressing 4 during the charge, but you can't cancel immediately. The cancel will buffer to the moment he is able to cancel out of it though.
