imagine thinking a christmas bikini is ok because "not much you can do with christmas theme" when they could instead just ditch the whole bikini thing and instead do some other costume thematic so they can actually put some effort into it.

we could even get silly shit like a christmas tree costume for zack, some elegant christmas dresses for the more elegant ladies like Helena and Lisa, some cutsy christmas sweaters for the more cutsy girls like Kasumi, Kokoro or even for the men like Eliot and Hayate.

there's so many options to make a variated pack that's within the christmas theme AND doesn't exclude any character (cofcofthemencofcof) but they really had to go the easy way and plaster the same red bikini with white fur into all the girls' body mesh lmao

Yeah the Christmas bikini's seem a little simplistic they could have done so much more with variety or even they wanted to keep the bikini's could have changed the design for each character to match their personality. They should have also added males character in swim trunks with santa beards and hats XD.

They also need to make smarter choices for the revival packs too, besides the bunny one the Christmas one and the swimsuit one was awful, they could have even included the Valentine's day swimsuits in the hot summer one but it's like they always turn a blind eye to the guys. For next year I hope the revival packs are maybe the Valentine's day one for the full cast, the pop idol pack for the girls and maybe an actual revival pack where we get some remade doa1-doa4 era stuff for everyone, they did it with Lisa for the deluxe costume set so idk what's stopping them since my wallet is ready xD

DOA constantly takes pride in homogenizing its characters. It doesn't matter what their personality is or who they are, they're all always down with dressing up as sexy bunnies or matching/interchangeable bikinis or sexy *insert whatever the fuck fetish they'll push out next* and getting ready for their next model photoshoot. What DOA constantly does is directly incompatible with making interesting and memorable characters. Oh, but they're different bikinis from DOA5. They're still bikinis. And they already have two of them in DOA6 otherwise.

But sure, if the only criteria for "good" is that all the women are showing skin and the only criteria for "bad" is not showing skin, the santa bikinis are "good" and everyone should be happy. There's nothing to complain about...

They aren't only recycling DOA5 content, they're starting to recycling DOA6 content lmao.

Effort? Have you seen VV?. Every single girl uses the same animations over and over again even in their introduction trailers.. It's easy to make a game with no game play I mean dating simulator. But I can't disagree with you on everything of course.

The costumes in VV are way better tho, this school uniform for example slays, I love the tied coat at the waist

I'm not saying they should add the VV costumes in, but whoever designed their costumes should come to DOA6, their costumes and special stuff like hairstyles and such are way better imo. They even have special birthday event outfits for the girls made while we only get happy birthday tweets for the doa6 cast

Well the costumes yeah, but it's a handful of girls. You don't need me to tell you how much the gacha costs. And what it takes to get a new girl when first released.

Santakinis are the laziest dlc and I've seen yet. The outfits lack individual character. Season 2 ended with Morphing Ninja costumes.

Overwatch releases tons of varied Christmas/Winter/Holiday themed costumes every year. There's plenty you can do aside from Santa bikinis.

I can't believe they censored Rachel's fiend outfit. Legit thought my game was bugged out and re-enabled their burka mode. At this point I'm positive Tecmo doesn't know who they're selling this game to.

I don’t see it as censorship necessarily, I see it as an appropriate redesign, which isn’t a bad thing. I like that the costume is more modest. The costume is still ugly regardless but I like how it’s less slutty.

I like the santa bikinis. I don't really understand the complaints (like I've seen on GameFAQs and elsewhere). I remember people were complaining about recycled costumes from DOA5, and that's fair enough, but now we get something new and something that actually shows skin (considering the recent censorship controversy with Rachel) and people still bash on it? Because all the characters have the same bikini? They are simply Christmas-themed bikinis. There's not much diversity you really can have there.

Bullshit. I’m sorry but this is utter bullshit. Most people on here don’t mind it if a character shows less or more skin. The main issue a lot of the players have (me included) with the DLC, is the fact that it’s the same costume copy pasted on another character, which basically eliminates what made them stand out in the first place. I don’t mind Christmas Bikinis but at least give all of them a unique design with it instead of copy pasting the exact same design onto them. I wish TN would work on this and put more effort into it, because even DOAXVV who’s all about swimsuits shows more costume designs than the fighting game most of the girls debuted in. It’s shameful how TN is treating us.

This kind of thinking is exactly why TN makes - and gets away with making - these copy paste costumes. If there’s “not much diversity” with the concept, then you shouldn’t be okay with having to pay for stale, uncreative designs. It’s not even about showing skin anymore, it’s that they’re all wearing the sam-... actually, you answered your own question!

You’re really telling me that there’s only one (1) way to design a Christmas-themed bikini? And that they’re not being lazy whatsoever? Or that they even needed to be bikinis in the first place? The reason why (some of) the fanbase isn’t pleased is because they’re showing little-to-no effort towards giving us something that we would actually want to spend money on and feel good about it.

They’ve got some of y’all by the balls!! You really shouldn’t be eating up everything they’re shitting out just because “It’s DOA so I must support” or because a costume is showing a little more asscrack than usual.

Oh, don't get me wrong. If I see something in the game I don't like (Momiji's initial absence, Rachel's censorship, lackluster story mode, poor online, overpriced DLC), I will, and have criticized it. But price aside, I see no inherent problem with the santa bikinis. Besides, the game has other Christmas-themed outfits, even if they are recycles from DOA5. Just because its simple, doesn't mean its "lazy" as you guys would put it. These outfits should be cheaper, I will say that. All of them should be, really. But compared to the DOA5 outfits we got before, it's a step in the right direction.

Yeah, if we're going to have it be dumb, at least have the entire cast being dumb so it doesn't feel as exploitative.

The Santa Bikinis are the worst set yet. They're all the exact same design with only one outfit being a different color. I hope that Season 4 has better costume packs since when it came to Season 3, I only bought the Training Wear pack since I liked the new hairstyles and thought the outfits themselves looked cool, Rachel since the character DLC is usually really well done and Revival Hot Summer since even though it was the weakest DOA5 swimsuit pack, some of the outfits were alright, alongside Hayabusa's Santa outfit and a handful of Witch Party costumes (Christie, Tina, Helena and Momiji). That was really about it. Leifang and Hayate got free costumes which were literally the looks I wanted back the most. When the higher-quality content is literally free, I fail to see the point of the costume sets. I want more variation between costumes since I already have plenty of looks I like for most of the characters. I want some more interesting designs which at this point need to be cooler than what I'm already using for me to pay up.

League does this too, and in fact this year they said the whole Santa costume was getting stale so they decided to try something new this year and released a whole new skin set inspired by cookies, candy and sweets in general cause u know, Christmas sweets lmao

Why can't they do this too? There's more to Christmas than Santa. There's the food, there's the decorations, there's the gifts, the snow... there's a LOT they could pull out some creative costumes from. Even normal winter clothing is still more Christmas appropriated than a red recolor of the summer bikini pack lmao

I don’t get why the players that actually have seen Shimbori in real life didn’t point out the terrible DLC choices they made. I hate how it takes yearly design contests in order for the cast to get unique costumes that are mostly well designed. These copy paste sets are just an easy cash grab.
