I'm still on the first island and you're all talking about E4 already lol. Stupid european release date.

What I do like is that it's quite unpredictable which pokemon you'll find in which area. Didn't expect to find a Misdreavus or a Spinarak so early in the game.

So much for making a more well-rounded team. :/

At the part where you fight the legendary Pokemon (which is Solgaleo since I have Sun) I threw an ultra ball for the hell of it not thinking you could actually catch it but I did. This thing is a Steel Psychic type but I can teach it fire blast being able to replace Growlithe in the process.

But then I'd have three psychic types on my team. What do I do? I like Solgaleo. T__T

You're lucky. I thought maybe it'd be like X where Xerneas was easy as hell to catch but Lunala put up one hell of a fight for me.

Is there any place to get more of the balls a certain past professor's relative gives you (lure, heavy, friend, love, level, fast)? I need my pokeball colors to match the pokemon I catch dammit and powersaves won't make codes available for """"free"""" users for another ~40 days

Not sure if this is true but this is the only thing I could find. XD

So beat the game. I didn't realize versing the E4 meant you couldn't go back to the pokecenter inbetween fights. XD And then finding out there was actually a fifth fight after that I really wish I had prepared better (because some Pokemon fainted and missed out on major experience points).

Why is dark weak to fighting btw
There are actually a few popular interpretations of why that may be. The most logical one is probably that the dark type is known as the evil type in Japan, whereas the fighting type tends to be more traditionally 'heroic' in designs and moves.

Another popular one is that dark types tend to be tricksters and many dark moves revolve around playing dirty (biting, throwing whatever they're holding, stealing whatever their target's holding, pretending to cry to throw the opponent off). Fighting types are typically based on more traditional martial arts, and would have enough experience to know how to avoid or mitigate the effects of these tactics, while also being more capable in a fair fight.

So post-game have been trying to get a Mareanie with hidden skill regenerator and failing miserably. -_- Everyone has been talking about this as the ultimate wall Pokemon and that merciless is inferior to regenerator skill. :/

Problem is when I'm SOS chaining once a Mareanie appears I'm not sure if I should try to catch it or kill it since there isn't a way to know its skill right? How many times should I let another Corsola/Mareanie appear before trying to catch it?

I just wanna say I love Toxapex

What you can do is keep a pokemon that knows a paralysing move in your party so you can see if a Mareanie that shows up has limber. You can also let it poison you and see if it crits you with a poison attack if the AI's smart enough to do that

This was a great idea but unfortunately this didn't work for me. Problem is I use False Swipe so if I mess around and don't kill Mareanie right away it ends up killing Corsola which ends my SOS chain. DX

Don't Mareanie call in other Mareanie? Every pokemon in this game calls for help except paralysed ones, legendaries, and island scanned pokemon as far as I know

Yes but it breaks the chain if it's not from the same species (or evolution tree) afaik.

Actually ended up getting one I had a 40 chain and caught one with regeneration with sassy nature (increased Sp Df). I'll take it! :D

I read something in a forum that works a lot quicker in finding out a pokemon's ability- use worry seed on it and it'll tell you right away

Got lvl.1 Mareanie in a very early wonder trade. Loved Merciless and, Baneful Bunker and Venoshock. I'm also using Muk... Poison is a lot of fun in in S&M.

I also heard it's impossible to get Oranguru's hidden ability. wtf? lol

This guy is so cute, talks so fast he can't help himself.

Onto Akala which has a bunch of pain in the ass pokemon. 1% chance Kanghaskan, Salazzle, 1% chance fishing spot Chinchou, Castform which only shows up in SOS chains when it's raining in lush jungle (good fckn luck), and multiple trade w/ item to evolve pokemon :') And GTS is barely any help because everyone's a jackass that asks for legendaries or something stupid like a level 91-100 Caterpie

One thing I don't understand is why the trade w/ item to evolve pokemon results are overflowing with people trying to trade pokemon holding the required item for the evolved form. Like if you search Magmar's results it's a shitload of them holding magmarizers asking for Magmortars. Why would someone who has Magmortar trade...to get Magmortar? Put up an Electabuzz with an electrilizer asking for a Magmortar, it'll take 5 minutes or less for someone to take it. Then trade Magmortar for Electivire. Or you can permanently clog the results with a request that will never ever ever get accepted I guess

I just think that the trade to evolve a Pokemon was the dumbest mechanic ever created. Like yeah let me just trade this Pokemon to someone else so that it evolves and then hope somehow I get the evolved form back.

I'm terrified to trade my Scyther. :/

I just got one from pelago (was weird) and I'll trade you when I get a metal coat if I don't already have one.

Just had the GTS screw up on me tho so I'm blocked from trading for an unspecified amount of time that I just learned can last from 10 minutes to over 70 hours (((: Found a Miltank asking for a Kadabra, had one (also from pelago, the wild pokemon there throw themselves at me) so I selected it, trade started, trade stopped saying a communication error happened when I've had no problem trading roughly 50-75 times on my wifi before and now I'm blocked because gamefreak's absolutely terrified of people possibly cloning like in past games by switching the wifi off at the right time during a trade.

If someone would like to trade legendary/ultra beasts for pokedex reasons, feel free to let me know. I would love to complete my dex before Janurary... and I am actually having problems finding people with Sun.

You can get them pretty easy with the Tapus on the GTS. Then you can get the tapus back a little slower. I got the Nihilego, Xurkitree, and Buzzwole pokedex entries so far and haven't even caught my first UB yet.

Btw they did a good job making the ultra beasts not look at all like pokemon imo, especially Xurkitree, Buzzwole, and Celesteela. They all look so bizarre and out of place and remind me a little of gen 5

...Got kinda bad news for you in that case.

You get two of your version-exclusive legendary, and multiple of both version-exclusive UBs. Specifically, you get four of either Pheromosa or Kartana, and two of either Celesteela or Buzzwole. The second legendary comes from a Cosmog you can find which will eventually evolve into another Solgaleo or Lunala.

So, my 2ds, my copy of Pokemon Sun, the 2ds charger, and Dead or Alive Dimensions will arrive in a couple of weeks.

Since i'm probably not getting gen 6 games any time soon, would anyone be willing to send me some pokemons that i would like?

I should really stop buying consoles now though...

Also, are there move tutors in gen 7?
