I mean it's the only likely time they CAN announce season 2 unless they just do it out of the blue on twitter.
There's always Famitsu/japanese media and Koei Tecmo streams on Youtube

It’s a port of FT tho with a change in the shaders and cut content lmaoo. Pathetic. 2 years waiting for a new game... for this? Phew.If you asking yourself what is AM2 doing lately:
Yes, another Project Diva
PD: Before someone jokes about it, this time I will get ahead. Hatsune Miku for DOA when.
I swear to god If we receive one more loli to this game
I mean I could see like Marie getting a Hatsune Miku outfit but I seriously doubt she'd ever become an actual playable character. I do hope there's stage dlc, Same with character dlc especially with so many people wanting Momiji and Rachel as well as other characters.
I hope they won't go with the stage DLC route because this game has an already tiny player base, it would be a really bad idea starting splitting up the player base even more.
Post release tages (collaboration stages aside) should be free, like in DOA5.
Stages does not split a community up. Exclusive stages based off platform does, and that is no longer a thing for that reason (DOA5 is probably the last on that subject since the arcade version of 5LR have missing stages as well).
Considering how lackluster things have been, stage DLC would of been nice.
Paid stages would only be playable if the host (or P1 player) paid them. In a F2P game that will mean you will rarely play these stages in ranked.
Would be a really bad idea paying for stages that you will play three times less than default stages.
But yet they have access to that stage even without picking it if someone else chooses it. On top that stages to get reprogrammed into the game with balance changes is not an easy task, fighting game developers already explained it that people can't be surprised stage DLC becoming a thing and coming with a price, and Zack Island was miraculously free for DOA5 because it was already done according to Hayashi and just didn't have the time to put it right away in vanilla due to a schedule. Not every single content has to be free (obviously even I wish some of it were free as most of the DLC and reskinned cosmetics aren't worth the money at all) but we can't be really surprised here.
Stages is an enhancement for the game even if it's paid ones.
Everything is an enhancement and is hard to do, even bug fixes and rebalancing. Also, they added more stages for free to both DOA5 Ultimate and DOA5 Last Round, it wasn't just Zack Island for DOA5 vanilla.
That was the trade of with DOA5. They released a huge amount of paid cosmetics but they also gave us free content in form of some stages.
If now everything will be paid content, being this game a half-assed DOA5 version, people won't throw money to them.
I can look aside paying again for legacy characters and some others like Mai and NG girls but if they also will start charging for non-collab stages ... that's a big nope for me..
I wouldn't support a more expensive game just to get less content and with less quality than with DOA5.
And again, I wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't free. Stages vs cosmetics can be a thing where I find stages to be far worth the money than pure cosmetics if they had to be paid. Cosmetics is merely a player taste, stages is a literal enhancement where it improves the game in it's format even if it was paid.
Cool, we had a miracle, hope they do it again. Still wouldn't be a grand issue if they were paid.
But that's the trick and the scapegoat, people will still buy them. Same with the costumes, except one side holds more weight to value when it comes to game life and quality. Believe me when I say this that I most definitely prefer all of it to be free because why not? some of the content DOA provides should be entirely free I feel. However stages? there's a lot more work so take it as a blessing that TN releases it for free. If it's free? then it's free. If it's not? then it's not. Without a doubt that I'd agree with you if it came to reskins where it's hilariously laughable to pay for them again.
But there are also characters that also shouldn't exactly be priced (Nyotengu/Phase-4 hell even Mai, but would be neutral if she was priced again for reasons) since we've bought them before, and there were hardly any changes to them realistically speaking. New characters are entirely a different story.
Yes I agree, but again, comes down to the value at hand. It is a blessing we'd even get free stages but having them paid is not a grand scheme of things except maybe reused stages from DOA5, but classic stages with actual enhancements+expansion that is overly larger than the game it came from is still worth it even if it was paid.
It isn't about what is harder and takes more effort, it's about what people is willing to pay.
Cosmetics are related to "player expression" and that's something that casual players are willing to pay for. Stages ... not that much. It's something more related to competitive players and DOA has a small competitive player base in comparison with other games.
It happened because even they knew what would happen if absolutely everything was paid content. For a lot people DOA5 is the "over 1000$ fighting game", now add stages to the equation and it would get even worse.
Do they really want DOA6 to be the "over 2000$ fighting game"?, because for now there's way less people playing the game and paying content than DOA 5 back in 2012.
Casual players won't go to buy stages like they do with costumes, mainly because they know they won't use them as much as clothes.
1) They will. Let's not be oblivious here.
Yes but DOA6 also has a big amount of characters in the base game in comparison with other games in their release (Tekken 7 in Arcades, SC VI ... even more than 2012 DOA5) so they could afford charging for old characters because after all, DOA6 is a good start regards initial roster numbers.
1) And thus once more I repeat myself, people are willing to pay for stages even if it wasn't free. You are not exactly contributing anything upstanding here on this case.
2) Not really any different than taste but if you want to believe that sure, but yes even casual players (including competitive players) will pay for it. If it's direct ports with no enhancements or reskins, then what you'd say would be actually be reasonable. Such things should be free of course but who am I kidding, they'd probably charge it too.
1) It's KT. What exactly are you digging into? you are literally playing with straws here.
2) No, however the topic of having a $2000 fighting game mostly came from the cosmetics alone. Blame KT for that one along with it's playerbase when it's overshadowed by better quality games out there. Adding stages to the equation is not exactly a massive issue when it's literal enhancements vs cosmetics, like this isn't even a debate on value (except if the stages are literal shitstorm, then the value is lost yes).
If stages are free, then it's free. If it's not, then it's not.
Still does not answer the question when these characters were already been-made and could of plucked into the roster. It's a salesman tactic because why wouldn't they do it.

Anyways this topic is done. Once more, If the stages are free, then it's free. If it's not, then it's not.
