Speaking of which, wasn't it said that Ryu also got an outfit from that Ragnarok Odyssey game...? Why didn't his became a promotional costume?
I don't recall anything about that.
I never heard about this, but maybe today's the day?

While we're at it, we can still ponder TN's logic in giving Ayane a WO outfit she never had and Kasumi a WO outfit when she never even had one to begin with, and meanwhile shafted Ryu, despite him actually having a cool WO outfit they could have easily implemented. But nooooope.

Because, despite both being in NG and DOA, Ryu is the face of NG while Kasumi is the face of DOA. Therefore, she gets more attention.
Plus she is a girl, so the promotion for Ragnarok works better.
PS : Totally out of topic, but I just saw this gif on 4chan and it reminded me of young Marie-Rose and young Helena having a fight after a doll's tea party.
Seriously, I wonder who these girls are.

If Marie-Rose ended up being linked to Helena in some way, this picture would be funny (I'm not using "ironic" on purpose because I know certain people don't like this special word).

Still, Ryu could have had a male version of what Kasumi received. It could have looked like some tank top with a Ragnarok Odyssey Ace logo on it and dark blue/white workout shorts or sweatpants with some sneakers. It's not so hard to imagine.
The girl with the blue dress looks like Saber from the Fate series.

I didn't read it as insulting, I just meant what exactly is more refined about Pai? I guess you kind of answered it. I took 'refined' to mean 'honed' rather than 'fancier and less effective' so my bad

They gave Kasumi an outfit cause she is the face of DOA. She's always the leading role in the DOA games, and they always revolve around her somewhat. So in that aspect, it makes perfect sense.
However, you do make good points in regards to Ayane's chosen costume, and Ryu not getting one altogether. Would have made sense to give them all their costumes from NGS2. It would also have meant Ryu getting an extra costume, on-top of Rachel getting one as well.
I'm going to assume it was because it was promotional DLC to advertise MO2U. All costumes in NGS2 were DW6 costumes. MO2U goes off DW7 & SW3. The costumes Rachel, Ayane, and Ryu received in NGS2 are not costumes initially available in MO2U, so it makes sense to switch Ayane's costume with a costume initially available in MO2U. Which is why Momiji's costume is still the same, because the characters costume she received is still her default costume.
HOLY COWBELLS! That was confusing for me to write. Hopefully that makes even the slightest amount of sense! ROFL! Basically the costumes in NGS2 aren't initially available in MO2U, so it's not really promoting the game if the costumes aren't available once said character is unlocked.

I can understand how someone could think that it's a bit much. But, as someone who has seen a lot of Japanese media in his time, Japanese Helena sounds rather...plain. The French accent adds something that wasn't really there before. Same with the other accented characters. Even if the accents aren't 100% exact. It just adds variances to the sound of everything.
I mean...people usually have eyebrows more often than not. Reminds me of that image with the famous people with their eyebrows removed. Cannot unsee. Total do not want territory. You know not what horrors you unleash, mortal.
