I'm just salty that I just got crushed by Lopedo doing the same things over and over because he thought it was funny that it was working on me. I'm not going to give up the game. I'll just stop fighting against him in it until I know what I'm doing.

Glad you think so. Not seeing why, exactly. If I had actually been depressed about it, sure. But I don't think I said anything funny there.

I'm keen to unintentional comedy. It's part of how I tend to find enjoyment with movies that others would happily bury in the same place as old bad Atari games! lol

I'm adding you in a bit Emperor. I'm reaaaally liking Eileen though I find it hard to get used tot he fact that she lacks a low throw. I do better on PS3 than on 360 for some reason.

EDIT: Emperor, your friend list is full. Can't add you.

Honestly, you're probably getting your ass kicked due to basic levels of frame advantage/disadvantage awareness. It's about 100 times more important in VF than most of the games you've been playing.

It's not like DOA where you can counter your way out of a derpy decision when you attack at disadvantage, and it's not like soul calibur where you can just rock paper scissors your way for 50% of someones lifebar regardless of how disadvantaged you are.

The math matters quite a bit... I wouldn't be surprised at all if Lopedo had you on lockdown.

That was precisely what was happening. Just couldn't figure out how to get out of it. Started low jabbing a lot lol.

God this game is so stupid. Low jabs are king, by and far. Throws are absolutely pointless, they lose to everything and can be broken out of quite easily. Everything gives your frame advantage, so just keep on mashing. Oh cool I side stepped your string, oh wait it tracks, derp. It's just a polished up DOA4. I've won 95% of my matches and it's just salty even winning.

I'm sure it evolves into some high calibur fighter if you choose to put more time and depth into the mechanics, but it really isn't worth it at this point and it isn't really any fun doing so.

I gave it a shot at least, and I'll mess around with it some more customization is fun enough.

I wouldn't say the game is stupid, but agree with you on this.

I'm confused with throws. It's like I'm not sure when to use throws. I try to use them like in DOA, which is probably my mistake. When I block a full string, then I go for a throw finding myself beaten up by another string. I'm not saying all the goddamn strings are safe, but a most of them are. Connecting throws is a pain in the ass compared to vanilla VF5 (for me, at least). So the mashing battle begins, and that way the game gets boring really fast. Winning or losing make no difference if the matches are played like shit.
I feel the same with the tracking when sidestepping a string. I have played little VF5, and for what I recall that didn't happen.

It's not a deal breaker for me, at all. I'm still playing it and trying to learn it properly. I just end up thinking I'm not playing it how is supposed to be played.

Low jabs on hit are generally used to start pressure. Theres a reason why most low jabs come out in 12 frames... Unless you're the king of guessing which grab your opponent will throw out then they're useless. If you can guess which grab your opponent will do then good for you, but I doubt it. Grabs come out in 10 frames which is something most people can't even react to. Grabs aren't used to punish in VF, attacks are? BTW there are situations where you can get guaranteed low throws. As for being able to sidestep, there are strings that have moves that track??? It's so you can't abuse sidestepping and be knowledgeable of what your opponent is doing. You're going to have the same problems in DOA5 now that it has true sidestepping..

It honestly sounds like you just picked up the controller, got owned, and started complaining. No offense

If you don't know what's safe and unsafe then you won't know when you have guaranteed throw opportunities. Throw's are guaranteed only when your opponent is at a -10 frame disadvantage. DOA throws are guaranteed for grapplers at -4 and for everyone else -5 (really -7 since neutral throws can be broken). DOA4 required guessing and luck. VF requires you to actually read your opponent. Sidestepping hoping that their string won't track doesn't help if you don't know your opponents strings either..
