i wouldn't say that exactly Bayman is the only known human to survive an attack from a ninja with full intent to kill.also Ryu is stronger than everyone including Leon and Rachel,but he isnt as strong as Kratos

Yeah I'll give bayman a little more credit. Although he was basically defeated in only one attack.
I'd say ryu is about the same strength level as kratos, he can pull several similar feats, such as blocking the sword slam from the final boss in 3. Kratos is probably physically stronger though. But not by a huge amount.

The only characters even close to the level of Ryu are Momiji, Ayane and Hayate. The first 2 being under him and the latter being a friend who was even blatantly shown to be weaker than him in story mode.
Now, if Ryu had to deal with all 3 of them + Kasumi then he would probably have some trouble. But that's a different story.

i originally thought so too until i saw the second scar on Baymans chest,i only saw one cut from Alpha so i assumed the fight continued for a bit.
also as much as i would like it to be true, Ryu is nowhere close to Kratos in terms of peak strength

As was said before, Ryu is just trolling in DOA. It would only take one inferno ninpo, piercing void etc. to annihilate any of them. Ryu is canonically much more powerful than Ayane, or really anyone for that matter.

Momiji is obviously a good deal weaker than Ryu. Ayane deliberately waits in NG for Ryu to come through and do everything, plausibly because she knows she would be unlikely to succeed on her own (and doesn't even risk helping Ryu fight, for that matter, even when he's been cursed twice). Hayate, as you mentioned, is also weaker, and after Dimensions I'm quite convinced that Kasumi is drastically weaker also. In the DOA universe, there really isn't anyone "close to Ryu's level."
In conclusion: in DOA land, Ryu is the top of the food chain. If you want to speculate on cross-universe battles, Kratos and Dante could be a challenging fight. Ultimately, I'd give it to Dante, who posses the speed/agility of Ryu and the strength of Kratos.

Can't Dante also stop time? I'd say that gives him a pretty big edge.
He can slow it significantly with Quicksilver. Kratos can too, though only if there's a special statue around and he has a certain item in his possession.
Dante is also the hardest to kill. Kratos and Ryu have both been killed rather conventionally via being stabbed/cut by magic swords or impaled by giant logs. Dante has been stabbed by many magic swords, shot in the head, and impaled way more times than I care to count, and still has not died once. He's virtually indestructible.

DMC3 is such an amazing game. It rivals NG:B as my favorite action game, tbh.

Extra costumes are all fine and dandy and such, and I'm digging these tag changes.

Still no word on that, but I'm crossing my fingers they do at least SOMETHING to expand upon Arcade Mode. I don't know if rival cutscenes would be at all possible within the timeframe, but endings are so mandatory.
Not really sure how the gameplay aspect refers to the character's actual strength, but I'd love to see people say that until they've beaten the game with the Mortal Gauge equipped. Definitely one of the hardest things I've ever done <.<

I'm still impressed with Asura's Wrath. They finally, FINALLY managed to make a character who can actually, believably, go toe to toe with, and BEAT DBZ CHARACTERS.
