Oh okay, so I get it. The new DLC character is to push people to buy DOA on next gen. I didn't think about this the first time.

Next doa? I wouldn't count DOAX3 as the next doa.

Why exactly not? It fills the same niche with the costumes just different activities. I'd count butt battles as a fighting game , I mean you are pressing buttons but ringing people out like in Soul Calibur.

LOL!! This is about to get interesting!!

Well normally I would get popcorn and pray that things escalate (I'm hoping to see a lot of DOA gamers and DOA buyers duke it out) but I'm going to go ahead and stop you there and sorta try to put out this fire.

DOA is either two things to people, a fighting game. Which means a game with characters who fight using mechanics as combos and spacing etc. And to other DOA players a, casual fighter where you unlock/collect costumes, like you described.

The people that get it for the fighting mechanics side put in a LOT of effort and time in learning, mastering and being competitive...I mean A LOT! So saying DOAX is just like DOA and butt battles count as a fighting game is kind of silly.

You're right it is a DOA game hence the title but saying next DOA implies next entry into the main series which this is not. Even Itagaki stated that DOAX was made so that the focus on sexyness could go into this whereas the fighting got more serious (not exact words but something along the lines).

Anyway if you're rational you'll understand next DOA implying main entry isn't DOAX3 because it doesn't focus on any aspect of the main series that people spend hours upon hours playing and mastering.

Well, he's right that you're late in posting that information. You also shouldn't be too sensitive. Lol.

He didn't even ridicule you.

Regardless, that post was the first I learned of this information and I didn't see it posted anywhere else in the DLC thread so I don't really think that the follow up needed to be posted especially since it didn't provide any further information.

Is that gif from the Fatale Frame 2 remake, Fatal Frame 4, or Fatal Frame 5? And thanks for reminding me that I need to get a WiiU so I can play 5. Also, stealing this.

Aside from namesake and the girls it basically has nothing to do with doa or its story.
Just the girls chilling out at a beach even though it doesn't really make sense sometimes, and I'd hardly call butt battle fighting.... DOA is more than just pressing buttons, DOA is a legitimate fighting game with mechanics and all that jazz, Xtreme is basically just a gravure game plus doesn't have any of the characters I play DOA for either.

I wanted to say it also has the girls acting totally out of character but then so does doa5...

christie telling bass that she was looking for a real man was the highlight of the story

That was basically the entire point of her storyline. Looking for someone to f*ck. Great writing Team Ninja.
So much potential wasted for the main female vilain of the game. It's like they didn't even try to save her declining popularity.

Wait, by saying she was "looking for a real man", didn't she mean she was looking for someone to join forces with Donovan? Presumably his son? If not, that just ruined Christie's part of the Story completely for me..

I assumed the same but even if the line wasn't related to Rig, of course Christie would be just mocking Helena and Bass. It's clear that she isn't really on the oil platform for finding a partner but rather is following a secret mission.
